The Tom Ford Winter Soleil Eye and Cheek Palette in 04 Violette Argente

Is the purple a shout-out to the new color of the year?

I love how Tom Ford drops a summery collection in winter, because, obvs, the private jet’s waiting to whisk us off to the Maldives ?? for the holidays. *hair flip*

Winter Soleil is his latest LE launch, and it has a blush duo, four roller ball lip oils (so intriguing, I know!), a gardenia-scented body oil spiked with cozy vanilla, a highlighter, a lipstick, and an eye and cheek palette with a peppery, potent purple/vivacious violet.

Hmm… Now that I think about it, the eyeshadows in the $155 Violet Argente Eye and Cheek Palette roll deep with pigment, especially the bronze and the rosy burgundy shades, but the purple sparkles. 🙂 It’s the only one with glitter (dainty glitter, though), and therefore it’s also the one voted Most Likely to Exhibit Fallout (although it doesn’t, and neither do the other shades), and Most Likely to Invite Prince’s Ghost ?? Over for Afternoon Tea and Chitchat.

It’s no secret that I’m a fangirl for purple/bronze combos, and I dig this one, especially when Tom Ford’s Spice cream shadow gets up in the mix as an eyeshadow base, which is what I’m doing in these pics.

The rosy matte blush blends easily (yes!), so I like it, but the cool, pale pink highlighter would be better if it looked a little less powdery. It’s the only thing I’d change about this palette, other than the price, because — hi! Even if I had a G6 ✈️ on standby, $155 is cray.

Where this palette REALLY shines is with bronze liners like MAC Teddy and Costa Riche and Tom Ford Mink. Or, a bright purple liner with reflective shimmer like Sephora Collection’s Waterproof Colorful Shadow & Liner in Violet, so you can turn up the purple shadow’s twinkling even MOAR.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

Some enterprising reporter needs to find out how much these colored powders cost to make (at every level of the industry) and let us know how much we’re being ripped off as consumers when we buy these items. Even with the fancy-shmancy packaging, the profit margin on TF, in particular, must be truly obscene.

While I love the look of the colors, that is way over my budget and I´ll leave it to those with the private Jet waiting.
But you remind me that I need to do a bronze/purple combo again soon.

I keep looking at this. It coordinates so well with so much of my collection. And I really like the blush too. But when your favorite TF sales associate says, “You don’t need another palette” you probably don’t need it. Lol.

Man, I might need this one. I know it’s not the best he’s done but the colors are SO ME!

I LOVE this palette! The purple completely sold it for me. I love the blush too..it’s so pretty and lasts all day. It was a luxury Christmas treat but with 10% discount and a free Tom Ford lip balm with it, I can’t complain!!
