Quick Eyeshadow Tip for Hooded Lids

apply shadow outer corner

QUICK EYESHADOW TIP FOR HOODED LIDS: Looking straight into the mirror when you’re applying your eyeshadow, as opposed to holding your mirror at an angle, helps you tell how far up to take the shadow on the hooded portion of your eye — but don’t stop there! If you also turn your head from side to side, left to right and back, you can keep checking the outer corner of the hood to tell how far out to take that eyeshadow, too. 😉

Karen

Thank you! My youngest daughter has hooded lids and is starting to experiment with eyeshadow. This will help me help her. 🙂

Karen, I have hooded eyes and even though I buy every eyeshadow palette on the market, I feel like I don’t know how to apply shadow…do I make a round swiping shape? do i try to do it angled to elongate the eye…do i use matte in the crease?
do i use shimmer on the lid?

i feel like us hooded eye ladies need more guidance 😀 or is that just me?

maybe discuss more on mattes vs shimmers and what type of shape we should go for, and maybe even what types of brushes are best for placement of said eyeshadows?

I would be oh so grateful! xoxo
