Mrrreeeeow, Choupette!

OK, I realize that this is technically one of the items in Uncle Karl’s latest collab collection, but let’s get real — I’m only here for Choupette. ?

KARL LAGERFELD + MODELCO Kiss Me Karl Choupette Eyeshadow Palette in Smokey/Burgundy (Nordstrom exclusive)

($65, 0.48-oz. palette with 16 powder eyeshadows)

Can you say “no” to a cat-shaped palette?

I DIDN’T THINK SO.

See, that’s why you’re a card-carrying member of Team Cat Lady, and Choupette’s looking extra cute here with her heart-shaped nose and her “K” collar.

Today’s product check in: A look at the @karllagerfeld + @modelco_cosmetics new limited edition makeup line. It’s at @nordstrom l! #karllagerfeld #modelco

Color-wise, I really like the cool-toned browns in this palette, which is one of two palettes in the collection (the other one, Warm/Nude, leans warmer), and the abundance of mattes, and how almost all of the eyeshadows, with the exception of the glittery burgundy, are soft and buttery enough to practically scoop themselves with a brush or finger.

Here’s what I don’t care for: how the mattes handle my fine lines. Mind you, my kitten-hood was many moons ago, but still. I’m not a senior kitty yet.

Cool and warm tones in the Smokey/Burgundy palette

Despite being creamy soft, the powders have large grains that draw mucho attention to my lines.

To its credit, you do get a TON of colors with this palette, and that’s cool (no pun intended), but $65 is a lot to ask for eyeshadows that aren’t as finely milled as they could be. Plus, the packaging, while CLEARLY cute, is plastic and could be sturdier.

❤️❤️ 2 out of 5 hearts.

Did you know? This isn’t the first time Karl and Choupette teamed up to do an LE makeup collection. In 2014, Shu Uemura launched The Shupette by Karl Lagerfeld for Shu Uemura Holiday Collection, which had drawings of Choupette looking just as cute as ever.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

Nah, despite not being a senior kitten either I don’t need anything to emphasize my lines.

Makes my lines look more wrinkly? A uh uh, no. 🙁 Cute packaging tho but it’s too large to be practical for me.

I can’t say no to anything with cats on it! This palette is so cute. The colors are pretty, but I could do without attention to my fine lines too.

I was at my local grocery store the other day and they had the cutest cat-themed dish towels and oven mitts. Of course they immediately went in my cart. Fun stuff like that makes me smile.

    Happy Friday! 🙂

LOL, me too! Good thing HomeGoods always has cat-themed stuff in stock. I swear HG/Marshalls looooves the cat ladies. 🙂

Yes, I love Marshalls and TJ Maxx! I was just at DSW the other day and checked out the sock collection in case there were any cat themed socks. I swear half my collection of socks has cats on it. 🙂

I mean… Cat socks are the only way to go. 🙂 Did you find any cute socks?

Of course! Cat socks are the height of fashion. These are probably my favorite pair that I own. 🙂

They didn’t have any cat socks this time, but there were some with margarita glasses on them. I should have gotten those because cocktails are another hobby. 🙂

Definitely would not pay $65 for that quality or those colours (nothing original). But the packaging is SUPER cute. 🙂

I’m kinda at the point where I feel like all palettes look the same, ya know? But yeah… cute packaging! It’s cat lady catnip. 🙂

The packaging for this whole collection is cute as hell. Sorry to hear the mattes weren’t working for you.

I love how Choupette is still working to remain in the public eye. She must be feeling the pressure from her favorite frenemby, Tabs. 🙂

They still throw shade at each other, even after all these years! The professional rivalry is real!
