The Limited Edition Charlotte Tilbury Bigger Brighter Eyes Palette, and a New CC Cream From It Cosmetics

I’m wearing the limited edition Charlotte Tilbury Bigger Brighter Eyes Palette ($53)

What does a makeup-lovin’ lady do when she wants to “play up” her peepers, but she only has minutes to pull herself together for a Sunday funday meeting with a beauty brand? (Side note: The brand was It Cosmetics! More on this in a second…)

Shockingly, this particular time crunch was not due to my usual lollygagging.

I know! Instead, it was due to my oldest child (the cat), who decided that my youngest child (the toddler), didn’t need to eat her plate of scrambled eggs for breakfast…

Let’s just say that a series of swift cat paw swats led to scrambled eggs on the floor, which led to silky scrambled eggs ending up in one husky tabby’s tummy. As for the rest of the eggs, well, they ended up in his partner in crime’s tiny (but surprisingly powerful) toddler hands, and that resulted in scrambled eggs strewn about the living room like confetti in Time’s Square on New Year’s.

All of this in the span of 60 seconds… How? No, seriously, HOW?!

Needless to say, I was officially running laaaaate.

With my makeup window whittled down to 10 minutes, I grabbed the Charlotte Tilbury Transformeyes Palette, because you know the old saying — when it doubt, buff an expensive gold and brown eyeshadow out.

OK, I just totally made that up. 🙂 But it’s an accurate way to describe what I do with this palette for some everyday low-key glam.

Yup, still an NC42 after all these years.

What it is: A limited-edition filter palette to morph your eyes into the biggest, brightest, most sparkling eyes ever.

What it does: Inspired by the sparkling, eye-widening filters of social media, this palette is color-curated and coded to make your eyes look instantly bigger and brighter, as well as putting what Charlotte famously calls the lights-into-the-eyes. Charlotte has de-codified that application into an easy Prime, Enlarge, Define and Pop sequence, with each micro-finely pigmented shadow color-formulated to give the optical illusion of widening, brightening and playing with the light in specific areas after application.

How to use: Apply the Prime color, a warm, eye-brightening hue, to the inner corners of the eyes to give the effect of broadening the whole eye area. Apply the Enlarge shade to lightly contour and give a lifting effect to the socket; it can be built up or washed across the eye lightly. Define with a universal hue that adds instant definition to the lashline and makes eyes look brighter. Then, apply Pop in targeted areas to widen and brighten eyes throughout the day.

Pristine, untouched and fabulous

What I ended up doing that morning was what I usually do in times like these. I dipped a tapered eye brush back and forth between the darkest cool matte brown (the pan on the lower right) and the lightest beige (on the upper left), and buffed the mix on my lids. Then I lined with Chanel Mat Taupe and loaded up my lashes with Mally Smoky Mama (a.k.a manna from the heavens). It’s soft and subtle smoke.

On top of my trusty MAC primer, and I’m good for the day.

And because it’s Charlotte Tilbury we’re talking about (a.k.a fancy sh*t), luxury practically oozes out of each and every finely milled grain of powder. It’s very Tom Ford. Just be sure to tap off your brush first, please, to avoid the fallout (although there isn’t much), especially if you’re going all whoo-hoo-hoo with the shimmers.

You’ll be tempted to glow there once you see how the shimmery beige and gold glisten without settling into your fine lines too much. Just so, so good for that dewy, doe-eyed effect.

❤️❤️❤️❤️ 4 out of 5 hearts.

I drove into the city last Sunday to hang with IT Cosmetics and find out about their new Oil-Free Matte formula, which comes out at the end of this month and will be available at Sephora and the IT Cosmetics website. One of the girls was wearing it, and her skin looked AH-MAY-ZING.

(Yeah, Alexia, I’m talkin’ about you!)

I’m thinking that this one will be fun for product cocktail-ing, and it could be magical with a few drops of MAC Strobe. I’ll be testing it soon. Fingers crossed that it’s as good as it looks!

Karen

    The scrambled eggs story ?

Okay, so I tried the Chanel Mat Taupe for the first time today and my eyes itches like crazy all day! I used one of my normal mascaras. I’m still going to do another test to make sure it’s the eyeliner 🙁 it’s such a pretty color!

Oh noes! I hope that it’s not the liner. Did you use anything else different, like a new eye cream?

I hope it works out for you. *fingers crossed*

Nothing else new, but it could have been a bad contact lens day.

Hettie loves eggs! Kitties are very interested in them too.

Now that is an exiting release! And a beautiful look, but a matte version of the it Cosmetics CC cream? I really hope it is good!

So many new things being released. I just saw a promo for Chanels Le Mat collection. There are two new matte eyeshadow palettes, a neutral one which really speaks to me. I also saw something about NARS’ eyeshadow quads. I better start saving my money now. Too many things I like so far.

    Be well!

It’s amazing how efficient small (and large) children and pets are destroying, isn’t it? I wish they were as good at cleaning. HAHA!

I think you could have been forgiven for showing up at your meeting barefaced and being all “This is intentional. I want to try ALL your great products”. 🙂

Kitty Face my tabby is obsessed with scrambled eggs. He drools like a Labrador lol Quite the morning at your house ?

I just gave my friend It Foundation for her birthday and she said I wish they made an oil free version too. Awesome, will get for her next.

Karen, what lipstick are you wearing? So beautiful on you with this look.
