So…what is the Monday Poll?
Good question! It isn’t, contrary to its name, an actual poll. It’s just a list of five more or less random questions I’ve been posting on this blog every Monday morning for the past gazillion years (more than 10!). I love reading your answers, and it helps me get my week off to a great start. ?
1. How good are you about keeping your makeup collection de-cluttered?
Ya know…even before I started blogging, I was terrible at it.
Absolutely awful.
I need someone to hold my hand and talk me out of my crazy next time I sit down to clean up my collection because I hold on to things way too long. I will generally always find a reason to keep something. Forever.
I wish I could be one of those people who mercilessly unloads items they never use. Maybe then I could finally let go of that ancient pan of NARS Amour Blush that I took with me to Europe in 2005. (In case you were wondering, no I don’t use it anymore.)
2. Do you play Fortnite?
Nah, I’ve heard about it many times in passing, and I actually had to Google it to find out what the fuss was about.
My dream idea of gaming is playing Tetris. On a Gameboy. In the ’90s.
3. What’s the last thing you explained to someone?
El Hub asked me, “What’s the deal with Cardi B? Why’s she so popular?” HA HA HA! I may or may not have given him a dissertation on her rise to fame.
4. Jellybeans or chocolate?
Chocolate! ???
5. Cher or Beyoncé?
Bey, although Stevie Nicks trumps everyone, every time.

Why am I always caught by surprise when I see the pink ladies pop up this time of year?
No, they aren’t a girl gang from Grease. They’re those flowers up at the top. 🙂 They show up in Bay Area every year in late summer and signal that fall is right around the corner.
OK, now, I know that fall is coming, but it’s like my mind refuses to accept that summer will be over soon. 🙁
I have Facebook friends who are already posting pictures of pumpkins and their pets and kids in Halloween costumes, while I’m here knocking on a watermelon and thinking about the pool.
Sigh…

Pretty good, except when it comes to eyeshadow palettes. I hold onto those forever!

No, but my son does. He just informed me that it isn’t as good anymore. Apparently, they did something and made it easier so now everyone who plays is good.
3. What’s the last thing you explained to someone?
I work for patent attorneys. I was explaining to my husband about a part of my job which is time consuming and kind of a PITA.

Ehh…I don’t have much of a sweet tooth. I’m more of a savory kind of girl. Every now and then I’ll want some chocolate.
5. Cher or Beyoncé?
Don’t hate on me, but I never got the whole deal with Beyonce. I’m not a fan and don’t understand why people love her so much. So I guess I’ll go with Cher, even though I’m not a huge fan of hers either.

So now I have to ask… How old is your oldest eyeshadow palette?
Probably the original UD Naked and my mom bought me for my birthday one year, the True Blood palette that Tarte put out. Also, I have a few of the original W&W little quad palettes.

seems like such a waste to throw it away when you know it’s too old to donate to someone or pass it along to a friend. so sad. 🙁

I’m pretty good at keeping my makeup de-cluttered, but the samples get out of hand easily.

I’ve never even heard of it. I don’t play anything except Solitaire.

I explained to my mom (again) how to reboot the Roku.

Chocolate, although I never turn my nose up at Jelly Bellies. (Except the licorice flavor. Licorice is Satan’s candy.)

I have to agree with you on licorice. Black licorice is the WORST! I will eat red licorice once every 20 years out of curiosity (just to see if my taste has changed) and I always hate it. LOL
1. Declutter, you jest. I just found an unopened jar of La Mer. I stocked up at a good sale during winter apparently. I do declutter eye makeup.
2. I agree with Tetris. My fave is millipede and there is an arcade nearby. I guess I will spend some time there soon.
3. My job, to my boss. I will just leave that right there.
4. Neither, prefer licorice.
5. Not a fan of either. Do not dislike either, just not a fan.

I think they may be also known as Naked Ladies as well. I heard someone call them Pink Ladies a long time ago and the name’s always stuck with me because of Grease, lol!

Not great, but not horrible. It’s a bit of a mess but I purge it a few times a year.

I don’t know that I really pay attention enough to sports to have one. I guess Detroit Tigers (baseball) and Red Wings (hockey)? Michigan of course also has the fierce rivalry between the University of Michigan and Michigan State University, and I’d go for U of M, but I really don’t care that much.

Feeling a lot better than a few days ago! Still not 100%. I’m stopping the pseudoephedrine – I have a heart condition and pseudoephedrine exacerbates it, but I needed to breathe, so I took it anyway.
Those flowers are so amazing when I first saw them around I thought they were fake! I’m going to have to look into getting some.
1. Pretty good! I don’t have an excess of product so it isn’t too hard to keep it tidy! Although I have some lipsticks I should get rid of. But so many of them hold memories I just can’t!
2. No. I know it is a game, and the young kids like it, but that is the extent of my knowledge.
3. About an hour ago I explained to my husband what a floor press is.

Hi Karen! Last week was terrible! The coach who got me hooked onto horses died (he was 57), then my current coach got fired which is totally something my first coach (who was also the founder and owner) would have NEVER DONE at a time like this, then some butt head (I would use stronger language but Bree is next to me) rear-ended me WITH BREE IN THE BACK SEAT.
She’s fine by the way. I got whiplash. My mom thoroughly Catholic-mom-guilt-tripped the guy who hit me once the parental units found me. It’s been a week.
Oh, and today, the house alarm went off for no reason. The house is haunted, I swear to God.

Very, very, very good. If I’m not using it and if I haven’t used it within a certain amount of time, it gets chucked. I just have no space for clutter in my house.

I was in therapy and trying to explain what my first coach Nick meant to me. It was hard because how do you try to express “barn dad” but doesn’t pay your bills to someone? Ha ha ha! He truly adopted everyone.

1. How good are you about keeping your makeup collection de-cluttered? Pretty good. But the products I try the most are mascaras and it’s hard to give a tube to someone when it’s been used. Not that my eyes are infectious or anything, but you just never know.
2. Do you play Fortnite? No, but it’s played pretty much 24/7 in my house and I’ve watched it being played.
3. What’s the last thing you explained to someone? How to answer an email questioning some paperwork that was submitted.

5. Cher or Beyoncé? Cher – but not necessarily for her singing. She’s had a very long career as an entertainer in general and is still at it. Bey’s still just a baby by comparison. 🙂

Pretty good, because I really haven’t been buying anything except to replace what runs out! ? Now that I’m a SAHM I’ve got to keep my beauty budget to a minimum, plus I’ve been really trying to use up all the palettes I have. ?

Nope, I have enough of a backlog of games I’d like to get to! My husband and I are always looking for fun co-op ones, they’re great for team building and often more fun that just sitting and watching TV together.

I was telling a brand new mama how my husband and I worked together on getting sleep the first few months with the bebe.

Ideally, a handful of each please! But these days I’ve been reaching for fruity over chocolate. It started while I was pregnant and stayed!
