Today’s been the hottest day of the year, man! We’re pushing 109! It is crazy hot.
Tabs, of course, loved days like this. He thought the heat brought out the richness of his fur…
He would have been lounging by a body of water somewhere on a day like this, sipping champagne…
Traditional fashion photography rules advise against taking pics during the hottest, brightest time of day because of the harsh shadows, but Tabs didn’t go for that. He loved kitty modeling in full sun and was like JJ Abrams when it came to lens flares.
Rosie, on the other paw, would rather relax inside the house with a cool beverage than work her angles in the hot sun…
The coywolf and I appreciate the merits of both approaches. We’ll hit a couple poses in the sun before retreating to someplace with ice cream and AC inside. ?

It hit 116 here today and is only—only—supposed to hit 100 tomorrow. High temps are breaking records all over So Cal. I don’t know how the firemen are able to battle all those blazes in this terrible heat. Stay cool and hydrated everyone.

We had 101 on Saturday which, compared to you, isn’t much. But tonight we’re supposed to go down to 29 and get 2 to 5 inches of SNOW with wind gusts to 55 mph, too. I am freaking out. I’m not ready for a freaking BLIZZARD on Labor Day!! I had to bring all my house plants back inside, disconnect my hoses, close the windows, and I’ll have to turn off my fans tonight. I hope I’m not going to have to turn the heat on. We’re supposed to be back to the mid 80s by Thursday. (Insert swirly-eyed emoji here)

Wow, Karen – that’s toasty. We’re in the midst of a cooler spell which is expected since the leaves are beginning to change and we’re headed into Fall. Our summer has been the nicest in my memory. Very warm for us, and also very dry. Avg highs for the upcoming week will be in the mid to high 60s, which is pretty typical.
I love seeing Tabs lounging in the heat (with his champagne). 🙂 And poor Rosie. She really has it rough, doesn’t she? You can tell from her pose that she’s not enjoying that snuggling and scratching at all. 😉 Speaking of posing, you and Connor are rocking it in the bridge pic!
What I would do for cooler fall weather right now! I usually hold on to every last minute of summer but these days I’m like PLEASE RAIN ALREADY. lol

I get it – the heat can be so draining. And your area really needs rain. I’ve been checking on the fire sitch every day and it’s been grim. I’m so sorry for all of you!
The Hubs was out of town and it was the bday of one of my besties so I spent a lot of time with her/our group. Also played golf with one of the fellas. I don’t think we’ve played together since he was about 10. We had a good afternoon, which warmed my heart. <3 We have a girls' weekend (rented house on nearby lake) this weekend so the b'day girl will basically have a week of celebrating. 🙂 Were you able to get out at all?
It is still pretty warm here too, which I don’t mind. It feels like summer has gone way too quick this year.
