Rise and shine, morning glory! Good morning! I may or may not have just ingested what may, technically, be described as a dessert for breakfast, and while part of me feels like I shouldn’t tell you about this cake from Trader Joe’s because its health benefits are…beyond questionable, another part of me does because it’s SO DANG DELICIOUS.

I don’t know what’s going on with this brownie pumpkin blondie confection, but it’s crazy addictive. It’s so good that you have to close your eyes when you take a bite. It’s that serious!

If a pumpkin cake met a carrot cake that met a white chocolate/slash pecan fantasy, this would be their progeny. Like…I’m not normally into white chocolate chips, but I’m all over them in this. Normally, I’m not a fan of chocolate and pumpkin together, but they are WORKIN’ here.

Mmm… The crumb is so light it just melts in your mouth. Perfect with a cup of hot coffee.

So, yeah! You’ll either love me or hate me because I told you about this. ? Or, maybe you’ll love AND hate me, hahaha! Now I realize why this was the last box on the shelf when I saw it at TJ’s. People are addicted!

Anyhow…I hope you’re eating cake for breakfast this morning, even if it isn’t this one. Here are your beauty stories for the week. 🙂

  • Your two new Lenny Kravitz fun facts for this week: 1) he’s the new face of a new perfume by YSL, and 2) he uses sand from the ocean to exfoliate his skin.

  • Do you think your kitty has what it takes to become a therapy cat?
  • Experts say that it takes a while to foster feline friendships between kitties.
  • A brief history of styling Black stars in Hollywood
  • Here’s what you need to know about toner, according to a dermatologist.

So I’m working on my yard yet again this weekend. It’s the neverending story of my life right now, but it’s almost done. We put down the white marble chips last week, so this is the home stretch. Now I have to track down a big blue ceramic pot for a lemon tree and look at pavers… #adulting!

What you got going on today? Besides eating cake for breakfast?!

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

Those brownies look delicious! I will have to a TJ’s run in the next week and I’m looking forward to all the new fall finds. Two new things from my last trip I highly recommend are the organic pumpkin bread (sliced not a cake-like loaf). It has cinnamon along with pumpkin and sesame seeds. Toasted with butter-so good. Also the walnut pesto (refrigerated section). No basil or garlic so it doesn’t have the bite of a traditional pesto-it’s nice and mild and nutty. I roasted some petite carrots and slathered them in the pesto and some Parmesan. ?

    I think I need to make a snack….

    Happy weekend!

Lit the Leaves candle from BBW for the first time this AM while the hubby made buttermilk pancakes (which I topped with pumpkin butter, toasted pecans and whipped cream – totally feeling you on the dessert for breakfast vibe). It’s definitely NOT fall temps here today, but I felt like celebrating something new and different and CHANGE. Hastening the end of 2020 (buh-bye…) and rocking orange sparkly eyeshadow on a Saturday. To clean my house… ??‍♀️?

I just saw Lasagna the cat on FB! What a pretty gal!

I get eczema on my face, so I love oat in skincare products. Aveeno’s Eczema Therapy Cream is a lifesaver. I definitely feel the drier air coming in my skin though. I’ll need to buy a humidifier for downstairs since I’m working from home.

They don’t mail out the Trader Joe’s flyer in this area anymore. There is a store about 12 minutes away from my house. I haven’t been there since last year. About 20% or more of the store inventory seems to be wine bottles. I wonder if the California stores are larger and have a more diverse inventory.
