Good morning! Guess what…?
We made it! IT’S THE WEEKEND.
Oh, yeah. ?
OK…so, normally I’m a coffee kinda girl, but lately I’ve been all about tea, like this one from Trader Joe’s. I kid you not, this one is so good. I had it tucked away in my cupboard, buried behind boxes of green tea and decaf green tea, and accidentally noticed it while reorganizing things. The pomegranate gives it a bit of sweetness, and the lemongrass and hibiscus a bit of tart, and it has a good kick to it, too! That white tea, man. It’s surprisingly potent! I feel kinda buzzy and shaky right now, which is probably not the best state to be in whilst painting one’s nails, hahaha!
Oh, well! I’m trying to decide between these three colors by Duri…
What do you think? Help me decide.
This week’s reading
- Young people are purposefully drawing in under-eye bags on social media…
- A nail biter’s journey…
- Yup, big surprise. Aaaand now I want a rose-colored Caboodle.
- Patches the cat is an unsung hero!
- All hail Pat McGrath!
I’m seriously, SERIOUSLY thinking about cutting my own hair.
Please save me from myself.
NO, seriously.

I just painted my nails a dark color today so I vote for burgundy!
Love these videos. I’ve seen the take the lines one before it’s so satisfying to watch. ? I got my hair trimmed a couple weeks ago and lamented to my hair stylist I can never get it to grow past a certain length. She told me the trick was regular trims every 4 to 6 weeks! Now it’s my New year’s resolution! I’m excited to see if I can finally get my desired length by doing a better job taking care of my hair.
Also can’t wait to try out the French hot chocolate and I love that parisian musical background you shared! Great stuff today.
Have a great weekend!

Hi Jaclyn,
I hate to burst the bubble, but trimming the ends of your hair every 4-6 weeks doesn’t affect the hair follicles and it will do nothing to change how long your hair can grow. Ultimately, it is your genes and your medical condition that determine how long a hair will grow before going into its resting phase and then eventually falling out. That’s not to say that regular trims don’t have benefits. It’s just that they won’t make your hair grow longer faster. That’s a myth. Hair grows about 1/4” to 1/2” a month whether you trim or not. What trimming every 4-6 weeks will do is maintain your style and keep the ends healthy by eliminating those scraggly split ends that lead to breakage. Be gentle with your hair, maintain a healthy scalp and body, and your hair will have the best environment for growth—whether you trim or not.

I really appreciate this, thank you so much! My hair is prone to breakage which is why my stylist suggested the regular trims to help prevent the breakage that keeps my hair from getting longer. I’ve tried everything else, so I want to try the regular trims and see what happens! At my last cut I took off about four inches of bleach damaged hair. Now most of my hair is undyed so I’m hoping that helps, too. Bleached hair is of course even more prone to damage and breakage! Also, I’m constantly twirling my hair so I’m sure that doesn’t help either. ? My hair is thick but also very fine. I’m guessing fine hair has a harder time growing out? Thanks again for your insight! I’m hopeful but will be sure to temper that with a bit of reality. ❤️

Make it stop! Seriously, these girls are drawing in dark circles? I have hereditary dark circles you can see from space, and there is not a concealer known to woman that will even touch them. I would give anything to be rid of them, they have haunted me my whole life, and these CRAZY girls are doing this on purpose! I cannot with them! On a happier subject, I really like the Moonstruck Duri nail polish. I hope you do all three at some point so we can see how they all look. And while you are on a tea kick, have you tried the Tazo tea concentrates? They are the ones in the cardboard cartons that you mix with milk and heat in a pan on the stove. I love the Chai Latte, but the one I really love now is their new London Fog Latte – it is Earl Grey with bergamot essence and hints of sweet vanilla. I know you love Earl Grey, so I bet you would really like this.

I vote for Moonstruck. Can’t wait to see which one you chose.
I have this same tea in my cupboard too.
Lately I have been starting my day with a cup of tea and ending my day the same way.
I must confess that my husband cut my hair for me last year.
Then earlier this month I finally got the courage to just cut my own hair.
It turned out just fine. Good luck with yours, I know you will do a great job.

Connor would love riding lessons. Just be sure the trainer is experienced in working with children. Both my sons grew up riding horses and loved it. We let them start riding when they were six. My oldest son got be be very good and used to show in the Hunter Jumper class. My younger son loved riding the trails throughout the hills. It was easy for us to accommodate their interest because we had horses on our property. Learning to ride, bonding with their horses, being respectful of such big and powerful animals, and taking care of the horses and the corrals gave them a lot of confidence and years of riding enjoyment.
Breakfast at Tiffany’s—one of Truman Capote’s bitter-sweet gems. I was in my teens when the movie came out. Moon River was constantly being played on the radio and I wanted to look just like Audrey Hepburn. ?

I just want to say thank you for your posts! They certainly brighten my day, especially your Saturday Surfing. I enjoyed the Parisian playlist a lot! It was perfect for my lazy Monday. ?

Hahaha! I watched that cross country video several times. I loved how the riders looked out for each other (team events will do that) and I loved how many times I heard that rider say “Good Girl” to her mare. Also listening to her say, “easy” and “steady” made me think she has a mare that likes to go.
I love a forward mare. Easier to rein them in a bit than to get a reluctant horse to go.
I love the Korean dance video’s too. One of these days I’m gonna watch one on repeat until I teach myself all the choreography.
Hope you had a lovely weekend!

Wavy and curly hair are perfect for own trimming – they’re very forgiving. I cut my own hair all the time, and bangs, turns out fine every time. Plus hair grows.
