Two Ways to Win $75 in Redken Heat Styling Products

July 30th, 2009 by Karen 156 Comments

redken-giveaway-1

Do you ever go through phases when your hair just won’t behave?

I’m in one right now. My mane’s been waaaay out of control for days. We’ve had some fog here lately, and the extra moisture in the air has turned up the frizz factor *big time*.

That’s where flat ironing and Redken’s Heat Styling line have helped, particularly Iron Silk Straightening ($15).

One of six products in Redken’s Heat Styling line, Iron Silk helps protect hair from heat damage while adding shine and hold.

If you can’t live without your flat iron, blow dryer or curling iron, it might help to have around.

How about a giveaway, my heat-addicted beauties? 🙂

The prize

One lucky lady will take home five styling products from Redken’s Heat Styling line (a $75 value).

Whether you’re addicted to blow drying or only bust out the flat iron for special occasions, a girl’s gotta have options to protect her hair from heat damage…

  • Hot Sets Thermal Setting Mist ($15): A protective mist to shield hair from heat damage, and to add shine and hold
  • Fabricate Heat-Active Texturizer ($15): An aerosol mist to add body and protect hair from heat damage
  • Satinwear Ultimate Blow-Dry Lotion ($15): A lightweight styling lotion to reduce friction and breakage while blow drying
  • Spray Starch 15 Versatile Ironing Spray ($15): A heat-shielding spray to add shine, eliminate static and to protect hairstyles made with the use of curling irons and flat irons
  • Blown Away 09 Protective Blow Dry Gel ($15): A gel to control frizz, add shine and protect hair from blow dryer heat

How to enter…

Entering is easy. There are two different ways, and you can do both of them for two chances to win.

First, you can enter by leaving a comment at the bottom of this post. In it, describe your idea of a good hair day. 🙂

My good hair days? If I’m wearing it curly, it stays bouncy and frizz-free all day long; on flat ironed/blow dry days, it lies flat without any weird pieces jutting out (so hard to do!).

Second, enter by following me on Twitter and retweeting (RT) the following message:

A good hair day for me is when it maintains some level of body, especially around the bangs, and looks shiny and multifaceted in the sun with minimal frizzy flyaways! Plus the contest ends the day before my birthday 😉 Haha have a good one, Karen!

A good hair day for me includes taming my thick mane by a good blowdry and straightening it, all in hopes that it doesn’t get frizzy and sits straight and flat the way i like it. And that includes side bangs that don’t lose volume by the end of the day and end up in my eye. That’s perfection

A goood hair day means having the time to flat iron my hair and make it frizz-free. Or, anytime my hair doesn’t look like Monica’s hair (from Friends) the episode when they went to Bermuda….hehehe. No seriously, my hair gets that out of control.

A good hair day is one that’s frizz free, with body when its straight and bounce when it’s curly. More importantly–it does what I want, when I want it to….. OR–when it’s not FALLING OUT!! Though, I do like it when someone gives me a compliment on it!! That’s the best day of all.

A good hair day for me is when I can pull off the beachy waves look or super poker straight without being too frizzy or poufy… Lately that doesn’t happen EVER because I need a hair cut so bad that I can hardly brush through my ends! I end up picking the knots out with my fingers most days! So lately, a good hair day is one or two braids, or a messy bun and a headband!

A good hair day would be one when my hair does what I want it to. My bangs would not frizz, the back would lie as straight as the front. And if it’s dry, it wouldn’t fly away all over the place.

My good hair day would mean that I could straighten my hair quickly and easily. It would get all puffy and frizzy at the roots, and it wouldn’t start sticking up all over the place (my hair has a mind of its own sometimes)!

It’s been raining so often here, good hair days seem like a distant memory. Ha! My idea of a good hair day is when its wavy but not frizzy, not too flat on top, with no crazy parts that stick straight out. Which happens about twice a year.

Unfortunately, today was not one of those days and I was forced to braid it into submission…

I’ve got thick, red hair which is smooth on the outside but on the underside (around the nape of my neck) it’s SUPER frizzy! My hair is normally straight but I have to straighten at LEAST the underside in order to de-flate it. My good hair day would be that the hair stays frizz-free for the entire time and also that my cow-lick stays under control haha. In the summertime a good hair day is much harder to achieve because of the humidity around my area.

    good hair day
striaght- frizz free, has volume, feels silky, and looks shiney but not greasy

wavy/curly- the much harder of the two.
again frizz free, shiney not dirty, and softness.
a good medium of volume (not too much-it can get crazy, but doesnt just lie on my head either).
also a nice medium with the curl itself.
i dont like it super curly-again it can get real crazZy, nor blah, peasanty like either.
i love the look but its such a pain and usually doesnt turn out right i rarely wear it wavy =/
ill just keep practicing and maybe one day ill get it down *fingers crossed*
until then i shall continue to kill my hair with straightening irons and blow dryers
