Planning Your New Year’s Eve Makeup

December 31st, 2009 by Karen 21 Comments

New Year's Eve Makeup Tips

Good morning, ladies. 🙂 Yes, the rumors are true. In a little more than 12 hours, we’ll close the book on 2009 forever and begin a new chapter titled “2010”, a brand-spankin’ new year filled with promise and hope for us all.

With a lead like that, it feels like I should do something special tonight, LOL! Ya know, it’ll be special, no matter WHAT — even if I end up just spending the night home with the two men in my life (El Hub and Tabs). So far my plans involve the three of us, a couch, Hulu and perhaps a glass (or three) of something bubbly.

What about you? What’s on your dance card tonight? While I think I’m staying in, I still have designs on my New Year’s makeup, and I’m thinking about something with fireworks.

Do you already have your makeup picked out for tonight? Are you going all out or toning it down?

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

    Hi Karen!

It will be a mellow night for me. We’re staying in,with some food from A.G. Ferrari’s, some Veuve Cliquot champagne (we do this every year) and hanging out with the canine and felines. 🙂

I LOVE the Pixiwoo sisters, they are soooo gorgeous and talented!

I loved this post! I just got a free pot of sephora glitter with my last purchase using the coupon code so this is making me excited to try it out tonight. When I use glitter I use this glitter base by Medusa Makeup. I also like using the cream palettes by NYX as liners and under my brow bone. I can’t wait until its time to get ready later now!

Hi Karen! We’ll be staying in tonight, but I’m going to have some fun with my makeup anyway. 😀 How could I not? Probably a dark green smokey eye, but I’m not sure yet. I’ll let inspiration strike as I work on it. For now, I have to run a few errands, so I’m going to go barefaced until tonight. Have a great New Year’s Eve!!!!

Happy New Year, Karen! The weather outside is frightful, but tonight will be delightful–hub and I will feast on steamed lobster and a bottle of excellent Champagne. The lights on the Christmas tree will be twinkling, and the fireplace will be warm and cozy as the snow falls outside. Wishing everyone a safe and festive night if you’re out and about!

Happy New Year! There will be a blue moon tonight (http://correspondents.theatlantic.com/cristine_russell/2009/12/once_in_a_new_years_eve_blue_moon.php), so sneak outside for a peek, if you can.

I’m gonna tone it down makeup wise tonight. I have to work from 3:30 to 1:30 (in the morning, arrgh), so I don’t wanna have too much on my face. Plus, I’m gonna be a tired, grumpy bear.

Happy new year! I am going to a low-key party – we are gonna have game night and enjoy some drinks! I went with the Too Faced Natural Palette for my makeup – I did the ‘fashion’ look.

Hope you have a great night!

The BF and I aren’t doing much tonight either, but I went with super sparkly MAC mineralize e/s Under Your Spell i think. And of course glittery nails were in order!

It’s already 3:13 a.m. in my country on the 1’st of January so I’m already back home. But my New Year’s Eve party make up was a Cruella (from “101 dalmatians”) inspired look. Check out my blog in a few days for pics!

Love the “glitter eyes” make-up !!

Happy New Year, Karen! Hubby, the kids, and I are staying in tonight. We just did low key stuff with burgers and fries. I am bundled up in a blanket, because I have a cold, but I did put on a little makeup – just some light MAC shadows and blush. We’re celebrating tomorrow, because it’s my birthday, so we’re going out to lunch and maybe do a little shopping!

Hope everyone has a fun, safe, and fabulous New Year’s Eve!

    Happy New Year, beauties! 🙂

I was invited last-minute to a New Year’s Eve dinner at my friends’ home, so I joyously embraced the chance to do a silver smokey eye with Dior’s Twilight palette from a few seasons ago! Went low-key on the rest of the face with sculpted cheeks and a slightly-darker-than-nude shiny lip! It was so much fun!

Oh, and I did a faboo mani with black polish topped with gold holo-glitter! *love* 😀

I actually went very mellow for an apartment party last night. My usual makeup for work, with some extra eyeshadow and a pinkish lip. But then I curled my hair so it wound up looking much fancier than it actually was!

I enjoy Pixiwoo’s videos and I love their looks because the sisters have very different styles. Funny though it took a few videos in for me to figure out that there are two different girls and they are twins. At first I just though she was wearing a long wig over her short hair or she cut her hair a few videos later. LOL.
