If It Doesn’t Clear Up in a Week, Try Physicians Formula Organic Wear Makeup Remover Towelettes

February 18th, 2010 by Karen 14 Comments

You know that old saying, “Third time’s the charm”? It came to mind when I started putting Physicians Formula Organic Wear Makeup Remover Towelettes ($7) to the test.

They’re the third products I’ve tried so far from Phys Formula’s line of Organic Wear makeup removers (check my first attempts here and here).

Like the lotion and eye makeup remover pads I tried, these towelettes look *faboo* on paper, with excellent bona fides. 🙂 Bio-degradable, with a soothing lavendar scent, and manufactured without the use of funky chemicals or animal testing — yay, right? They look good both for peeps AND the planet.

So, do they hit it out of the park?

Answer: almost. They certainly hit it far. 🙂 I don’t think they’re as efficient as Soap & Glory’s Off Your Face Cleansing Cloths (my current drugstore wipe fave!), but two wipes and 3-5 minutes of rubbing removes a full face of foundation, concealer, primer, powder and blush. Pretty good.

Just for kicks, I tried using them to remove my eye makeup, and I’ll be damned if they didn’t work a little better than the dedicated Organic Wear Eye Makeup Remover Pads, removing primer, eyeshadow and liner (but not mascara).

How do you feel about Josie Maran’s Bear Naked Wipes? I ask because I think they’re another good drugstore alternative.

Like the rest of the Physician’s Formula Organic Wear removers, the wipes might be best suited for girls (and boys!) who wear less of the long-wearing stuff. If that describes you, you’re golden. Makeup and Beauty Blog Rating: B

A stone’s throw away from Friday!

Anyone else amazed by how fast this week has flown by? I can’t believe it’s almost Friday… I’m not complaining, of course. 🙂

On Tabs’ Thursday to-do list: nap, nap and nap some more

How’s your afternoon coming along? I just got back from a meeting in the city, and now I’m heading by my favorite MAC counter to check out the rest of the Riveting collection (lands on counters today).

I hope you’ve been having a good one!

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

Aww, it’s too bad that these weren’t HG — while they sound *okay*, and the packaging is super-cute, I’m looking for something faaaaantastic! 😛 I suppose I’ll just have to keep my eye out for the Soap & Glory ones.

As for Riviting? I was incredibly excited about it, but the next few weeks will be full of keeping myself far, far away from my MAC store. Something as gorgeous as Riviting is sure to wreak hell on my no-buy! 😉

Darn, I was hoping third times the charm! The packaging is just so adorable! For now I will stick to my MAC wipes….I buy the bulk pack so its pretty reasonable, and they work great at removing every last trace of longwear makeup.

OK here’s what we do. We buy it for the can and then put the soap & glory towelettes inside. 🙂

I tried the Josie Maran wipes and my eyes felt raw and irritated after using them – and I don’t even wear waterproof mascara. Not a big fan of makeup removing wipes in general though, I never feel like my face is clean enough.

I LOVE the Josie Maran wipes. They get everything off my face and they are very gentle. MAC wipes irritate and burn my face like crazy. Also, the Josie Maran wipes smell awesome 😀
