Philosophy Cosmetics in The Color of Grace

February 23rd, 2010 by Karen 43 Comments

Philosophy, the makers of PMS (Purity Made Simple) face wash, just added a new collection to their burgeoning line of cosmetics. The Color of Grace includes tidbits for face, eyes, cheeks and lips, all of them with something special in common: pink!

The Color of Grace Shimmering Powder in Amazing Grace, $30

The Color of Grace Go With Grace Face Brush, $20

The Color of Grace Eye Lighting Shade Duo, $22

The Color of Grace Angel Kiss Lipgloss, $18

The Color of Grace Heavenly Light Pink Illuminator, $28

The Color of Grace Art of Blushing Coloring Book, $35

If I had to guess, I’d say Philosophy drew inspiration from their classic scent, Amazing Grace (one of my faves), and if these are anything like the few things I’ve tried from Philosophy’s makeup line so far (great for natural, understated looks), I can’t wait to see more. Might be great for when times call for just a light dash of color.

Have you tried any of Philosophy’s makeup? I like it. It kinda reminds me of Bobbi Brown.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

Yup. And I love it. No need for a make-up remover. Its the best cleanser I have tried.

What have you tried from them? I really love their face wash, but some of their moisturizers didn’t really do it for me.

I use hope in a jar as my morning moisturizer & really like it. Doesn’t break me out & leaves my skin feeling smooth. Their face wash I am not a fan of.

I also love, love, love Philosophy’s Falling in Love perfume.

Ah, no love for the PMS? LOL… is it the fact that it doesn’t foam, or is it the funky herbal scent?

Oh, I love the smell of Falling in Love too. They make some really fantastic scents!

I used up a whole thing of Hope in a Jar and Purity Made Simple, but HiaJ did nothing for my skin and Purity was ok but not amazing. I tried their Kiss Me lip treatment and was allergic to it. I actually also don’t like their 3-in-1s because I find their scents to be too synthetic… but I realize I’m probably way alone in this LOL…

Speaking of Philosophy – I did like the cleanser …. and put in an order too! 😛

Must have that pink gloss! I haven’t bought any philosophy makeup, but I have tried their lip gloss tubes a few times. I don’t remember why I didn’t buy any – must not have been the right color or texture.

I don’t know if it’s my hormones going haywire, but the “philosophy: see the beauty in everything” tag line is pulling my heart strings right now, and for that reason, I want to get these sticky little paws on the lipgloss compact – even if it doesn’t look like a great color for me, and the threat of fingerprints aggravates a little, and I just sort of prefer lipgloss in tubes since I’m way too lazy to haul around a lip brush. The power of language, huh? ;’) I also want the illuminator! And the coloring book is just precious! Jeez oh man, I just want every single last piece – and I’m normally the type of girl to do her makeup draggish, with inappropriately smokey eyes every single day and sometimes red lipstick to match. There’s just *something* about this collection … good going, Philosophy!

(I could maybe lose the eyeshadow, though? If I had to lose something, that is. I feel like it’s pretty, but borderline bland.)

I think you’d probably look smashing in the lipgloss, by the way. It looks like the color would suit you splendidly. Man, if only they had Philosophy around my neck of the woods! I guess there’s a point in the favor of going to uni in New York next year: Sephora, and the tantalizing cosmetics-splurging opportunities it entails. ;D Otherwise, there will always be eBay.

All of these pink products were on QVC today, I gave in and ordered the set of extra large size of pms cleanser, which I love, the microdelivery exfoliating wash and the oxygen peel set.
I love pms cleanser, it cleans without over drying which is important here in the desert where I live. I also love their make up primer, the present. I use that every day before I put anything else on my skin, after my moisturizer and serum. It gives the skin a nice texture for make up and helps everything stay in place, plus its 25 dollars for 2 ounces that last a long time since you only use a pea sized amount.
Their make up palette is definitely more for every day the no make up look, its definitely not marketted at the mac or urban decay customer. I’ve considered their mineral foundation, but I’ve not made the leap, I am such a studio fix girl. I have a hard time giving up the black compact. I was seriously tempted by the pink illuminator, I just want to try anything with colour first before buying.

I just got the illuminator and I absolutely love it. It was one of the few the makeup artist in Sephora put on my bare skin and I didn’t look ashy. It was just a gorgeous pink glow

i would love to try all of these, except the gloss- cant kiss, hair always gets stuck in it, just not worth the pretty shine for me.
i wish the face illuminator didnt have a brush though. i know it looks cute but all i can see is the bacteria building up on it ..ewwww…..
but i still want/need to try the cleanser and hope in a jar.
i also really want amazing grace perfume and body wash if it is what ive read about it. says its a fresh clean light scent and im TOTALLY all about that. fresh clean linen and those sorts of smells are my favorite!
