More Summery Colors and Shimmery Fun from Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess

March 23rd, 2010 by Karen 56 Comments

With highly saturated purples, bronzes, teals and gold, Estee Lauder’s Bronze Goddess summer collection salutes makeup mavens who love intense, rich color by thoroughly bringing on the bling (on counters now; check out some swatches here).

We took a look at Aqua Flash Liquid Eyeshadow and Orchid Lip Gloss earlier this month, and here are few more items from the collection.

Bronze Goddess Liquid Eyeshadows

If you wear warm shades well, the Molton Bronze, Violet and Sand Shimmer Liquid Eyeshadows ($17.50 each) might tickle your fancy.

They’re vibrant, long-wearing shadows that really rock the summer sparkle (remember Aqua Flash?).

Bronze Goddess Exotic Bronzing Blush

My heart broke a little when I busted into the pan of Exotic Bronzing Blush ($35). I just love those stripes!

I bet its mix of gold, light tan and peachy pink will POP on ladies with medium skin tones. I can also see it pairing well with one of my favorite MAC Lipglasses, the shimmery, peachy gold Nymphette.

Bronze Goddess Bronzing Gel

I’m not in love with the Bronzing Gel’s ($28.50) outfit like I am the packaging for the blush, but it gets points for the convenience (it’s a tube). NOTE: It’s a bronzer in gel form, *not* a self-tanner.

I’ve been applying a small amount (a little goes a long way) to the apples of my cheeks and down the center of my nose for a warming brown glow, subtle golden sparkle and dewy finish. If you get tan in the summer, it should really look great.

Well what do ya think? Has a Bronze Goddess caught your eye?

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

WOw! I really want the gel, because I don’t like self-tanners and I only want something temporary. But is it waterproof? Hopefully…..I love the bronzer and blush, too. I am saving my moolah right now so I can run out and stock up on all the new summery products!

I love the Bronzing Gel, but I find that in summer, formulas like that tend to slip & slide in the humidity. I wonder how it wear when the weather heats up?

Do you have a good face makeup primer? I find those make a huge difference in terms of stuff on when the humidity starts cranking.

I love some of the packaging and the name “Bronze Goddess” LOL. But in reality, I hate liquid eyeshadow, I don’t get tan so the gel bronzer would look hideous on me, and the last thing I need is another powder bronzer. Even if it is absolutely adorable with those stripes!

I use the liquid form of Kitten from Stila underneath all my eye shadows, I bet that the sand shimmer would look nice under them too. I feel like theres a trip to the make up counter in my future. Once I get my car fixed first, I can’t get the boy to come to the mall with me 🙁 and he’s my ride for now.

It’s very nice. It’s not a big store but they’ve made better use of the store space available then in Antwerp, it feels a lot roomier.
And the MA helping me was just incredibly nice. She was like: do I know you from the store in Brussels? Or maybe you’re an actor with this or that theatre company?

As much as the products are high quality, I’m not excited by this collection. The shimmery shadows are nice, but I know I’d use them a few times, and they’d sit in my drawer collecting bacteria, and I’d just get rid of them. The blush looks like another peachy-pink-gold. The gel bronzer is not new. I had one from EL years ago, and just didn’t love the product, as it irritated my skin. Not as easy as powder bronzer which I can use all year long, and looks just as natural. Pretty collection though. I wanted to see lipsticks!

    Hi Karen,

Stupid question but would you apply these with the stick provided or can you actually use your Mac brushes? I’ve never gotten the hang of liquid eyeshadows, they always seem to crease and look oily, I don’t know how you blend them like powder eye shadows?

I really like the Bronze and Violet but am reluctant to try them when I don’t have a clue how to use them properly!!

Thanks and have a great day!!

Ah, I loooove those liquid shadows. I’ve got two of them and will probably end up getting all four. I have SUPER oily eyelids so I end up using Urban Decay Primer Potion all the time to make eyeshadows stay un-creasy. This liquid shadow, no lie, is like a tattoo or something it is that long-wearing. You absolutely must take it off with eye make up remover..it lasts that long! I was very skeptical because I am a skeptic about anything but powder and how long it can stay on my eyelids, but EL liquid eyeshadow stayed and stayed and stayed. Even without UDPP!

I sometimes apply it with a concealer brush (I just take the liquid off the wand with it) or sometimes I just pop it straight on my eyelid and blend with my finger. They become pretty sheer if you use your finger, or you can layer the color. They blend very easily with each other and other shadows, which is awesome too.

Very fun to play with, highly recommended! I went running in these…and they stayed!
