This Week’s Top Posts

April 4th, 2010 by Karen 13 Comments

Heya, girls. How was your Easter? I just got back from visiting my parents across the Bay. Lots of eating (of course) and hanging out. How about you? What did you do today?

I’m sad to see the weekend end, but did you have a favorite new collection or beauty product this week? I think I’m gonna go with Pacifica’s Malibu Lemon Blossom Body Butter. Mmm…

Bright Lights, Sheer Lippies: Two New Gloss Fluo de Chanel Lipglosses for Summer 2010

“I usually covet punchy, pigmented glosses, but these leave a lighter kiss of pretty color instead (unflavored, no scent). While the color may be easy to miss, the price is hard to ignore. ”

The Dolce and Gabbana Brush Collection

“With prices starting near $30, the five-pieces in the brush set for eyes, face and lips are clearly for lovers of luxury, but I think they look the part with that gold lettering on those matte black handles. Sure do look lush!”

One Easy Way to Rock MAC Art Supplies

“Inspiration for the winged purple liner goes to ’80s hair metal band Motley Crue. I was listening to them on iTunes when it came to me. Here I’m wearing a toned-down version of the wing for daytime wear, but you could always ramp it up for evenings with a thicker line and a bigger flick.”

Pacifica Totally Makes Scents: Take Malibu Lemon Blossom Body Wash and Body Butter, For Example

“Packed with moisturizing shea and mango butters, aloe vera gel, and sweet almond oil, this body butter has SERIOUS game. It’s thick, rich, and a little bit goes a long, long way. It keeps my driest parts smooth and ash-free all day long (I’d say a full 24 hours), and I love that it doesn’t leave a greasy film on my skin.”

Thar She Blows! Getting Blown at the Blo Bar, SF

“Okay, so the name’s kinda cheesy/pervy, but don’t let that scare you away. I got blown at the Blo Bar in San Francisco yesterday, and I can’t wait to go back. It’s completely legit and involves two of my favorite things: efficiency and fabulous hair.”

The $3 Glossy Mascara: Wet ‘N’ Wild’s New Mega Length Is MEGA Affordable

“First things first — Mega Length gets extra gold stars for pigment, imparting a deep, glossy, rich look to lashes that takes it well beyond the meager price. And it also resists smudging and flaking like a champ, while remaining surprisingly easy to remove.”

The MAC Pro Longwear Lipstain Markers: Answers to Your Questions

“Before these, I felt most of the red and brown Lipstains looked too much alike, but these stand out. I’m even drooling over the prospects of layering them beneath a reddish coral gloss like MAC Liglass in Lychee Luxe. I get the feeling that’s gonna be the hawtness!”

MBBTV #8: Tweezerman for Benefit & Crazy Lunch Lady Hairs

“Here’s a video look at the Tweezerman for Benefit collection of tools for cute brows and lashes…”

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

Happy Easter! The highlight of my week was MAC’s Art Supplies. I hauled 5 of the 6 Pearlglide liners!

Hi, Karen! Glad you had such a great Easter!

We had a good Easter. Today was spent the day lounging around (except my son, who woke up at 2:19 a.m. Sunday morning wondering if the Easter Bunny had come and then he stayed up all night).

Love the look of the Chanel glosses you posted and my favorite beauty product would be my new MAC 208 brush and MAC Liquidlast eyeliner in Coco Bar (I might actually be able to learn how to use liquid eyeliner now!).

      Hi Toni,

How cute… my brother and I used to wait up for the Easter Bunny when we were kids. 🙂

Have you had the chance to take your 208 for a spin yet? What do you think?

LOL! I’m not planning on grabbing the ultra-sheer fluo glosses, but your photo does make me want one for fighting the dark side! 🙂

Hope you had a great Easter weekend!

Wouldn’t that be awesome? I’d use any excuse to bust that thing out. 🙂

I am having a torrid love affair with MAC’s Designer Purple eyeliner. I may have to buy a backup if I all the stores aren’t sold out yet. I love it with my Dior Night Butterfly palette.

    Loving your blowout pic!

Highlight of my weekend was discovering the new Clinique’s Acne Solutions Liquid Makeup! I saw the link in your post on Saturday and immediately ran across the street to Macy’s to go try it – been in love with it ever since. My skin normally does not tolerate liquid makeup (breakout city), but it loves this stuff. And Clinique had that whole free gifts with purchase thing so I got some Even Better moisturizer to try too!
