MAC Studio Fix Lash, A Haiku Review

April 6th, 2010 by Karen 64 Comments

Studio Fix Lash,
Such a steal for 13 bucks!
Yer the bomb dizzle.

My lashes look so
Full and almost like they’re fake
What is the secret?

It’s a mousse, says MAC
Not like the animal; a
Mousse-like formula!

Nekkid lashes

Short, stubby lashes
Stand no chance. Fix grabs, extends,
Separates and lifts.

One layer

Every single lash
Longer, thicker, reaching up
They could touch the sky.

Two layers

Smudging, flaking — no!
So easy to remove, too.
MBB Rating…

Three layers

A+ 🙂

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

P.S.
Just got the word from
Urban Decay; a friends and
family sale, NOW!

      Hi Sylvie,

It’s not as extreme as something like Estee Lauder Sumptuous bold because it relaxes them just a tad, so the lashes lift up and out as opposed to just up. I still like it though!

I know! Drugstore mascara prices are practically even with Mac now, it’s ridiculous. loll so many things are on my Mac list but at the top are the Lustreglass in Spring Bean, this, and Blacktrack fluidline. I have the Sonia Kashuk cream liner and while it’s nice, it doesn’t quite do it for me. Speaking of which, I have to remember to go to Target and pick up that bent eyeliner brush you reviewed. Want!

Hey Karen! This looks like a great all-around mascara. Maybe just what I’m looking for… speaking of which…

I was hoping you could help me with my mascara search. I’m looking for a non-waterproof, curling, volumizing, and lengthening mascara. LOL, it sounds impossible, I know. I could forego the length, but I need the rest. The only mascaras that don’t uncurl my lashes are waterproof formulas, but I find them too harsh on my lashes to wear everyday. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance!

I have been using this one every day since it came out a couple of months ago. I love it!!! I do have to work a bit to remove it, but the upside is that it stays put throughout long days (sometimes 14+ hours from the time I put it on to the time I wash it off!) Great product!

Thank God I got a glimpse of Tabs in this post…been jonesing for his royal hawtness for several days now! I just bought (of course) a new mascara but will def give this one a try. I hate clumpy, thickening mascaras, but it looks like this one does a great job of lengthening and defining with only one coat. I’ve hauled so much from all the spring collections lately that I’m trying to beat the UPS man to the door so my husband doesn’t see the packages. Have a great day and rub Tabs on his fuzzy head for me.

    Hi Karen,
i was wondering if you recomend any good liquid foundation that dont look cakey
that covers and won’t disappear at the end of the day. i was doing some searching myself and i found some good feedbacks on
Dior skin forever extreme wear flawless makeup
Shu Uemera face architect smooth fluid foundation
Duwop foundation of youth and Shi Seido the makeup dual balancing foundation.
But still not sure which one to try first.
If you’ve tried any of these or heard anything positive please let me know.

    thanks =)

I was wondering if you liked this mascara or the waterproof estee lauder one you reviewed a few weeks ago. I have fairly oily lids and I would prefer something that didn’t budge. I’ve generally not had a good time with mascara because of the lids and I was wondering what you’d suggest (maybe something else?)

I may be doing something wrong. Bought this the other day, but it’s so cakey!

It just sticks my lashes together, especially on my right eye (don’t ask why, dunno :P)

I love the price tag, but I have to be extra careful with it or else it looks all clumpy on my eyes.

Also, when I try to remove it with Clinique Take the Day off it just smears the whole face with gooey grey stuff. Thankfully it just goes away thoroughly after rinsing.
