Do You Like Pink Lips?

August 23rd, 2008 by Karen 22 Comments

If there’s a cure for pink lipstick and lipgloss mania I don’t want it. Other color trends come and go, but for me pink lips will always stand the test of time. Here are some of my recent pink lip obsessions.

  • MAC Pro Longwear Lustre in Pink Air, $20
  • Chanel Aqualumiere Formentera, $27
  • Bobbi Brown Metallic in Pretty Pink, $22
  • Chanel Aqualumiere Papeete, $27
  • Clarins Summer Fever Sun Lip Balm in Bikini Pink, $19
  • MAC Hollywood Nights, $14
  • Chanel Equinoxe Glossimer, $25
  • Chanel Candy Glow Aqualumiere, $25
  • Clinique Bamboo Pink, $14

Happy Saturday! How’s it going today? After straightening out the living room, putting everything in its proper place and thinking about pink lipsticks for a long, long time, I’m officially ready to begin the rest of my day. Better late than never, yo!

Oh, yeah, if you’re ever in my part of California and craving reasonably priced, authentic Japanese food (never mind the giant bronze eagle statue in the dining room), I highly recommend Sushi Boat in San Rafael. I only just found the place a couple weeks ago, but it has already become one of my favorite restaurants in Marin.

I hope you’re having a great weekend.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

I just purchased my first MAC products ever today. Viva Glam V lipglass (so pretty and not too sticky! yay!), Carbon eyeshadow and the Blonde’s Gold pigment. I’m excited! And thanks for the How-To on MAC pigments, it’s really coming in handy! So yeah… my weekend is going well so far.

    Hi Jenna,

It sounds like you got some great basics to start your MAC journey. Hooray!

Oh, good, I’m glad that the How-To post helped. You’ll be able to do a TON of fabulous with that pigment… it’s really going to be versatile. 🙂

My weekend is okay so far, too. I’m going for a run and I think when I come back I will play a bit more with the Cult of Cherry stuff. Time to try another look!

    Hi Karen,

I love pink lipsticks too! Need to check out that Bamboo lipstick you mentioned many times 🙂 I’m still stuck at home with Fay running over the area with lots of rain water and develop a major crave for pizza. I don’t think delivery guys would bring pizza to me during the hurricane at all.

    Hi Dao,

Hmm, maybe the would if you gave ’em an extra great tip? I just had some the other night… Round Table’s thin crust with tomatoes and garlic.

I’ve never experienced a hurricane before and they terrify me. Earthquakes, though, are another story.

Stay safe and stay dry, girlie!

    Hi Ponikuta,

I agree! Pink lips will always be in style. 🙂

The Clarins one is *super pretty* in real life, because you can see the different colored flecks in the sun. Do you like thin gloss? Cause it’s a bit thinner than Lipglass!

    Hey Karen,

I like pink lips a lot for everyday wear. I’m starting to move into more red and dramatic lips for evenings in Fall now, though. Have you tried “Cosmo” from MAC? I spotted it the other day and it looks so good. I’m also going to have to look into Viva Glam V or Bamboo Pink lipstick, they look so beautiful on you!

Those colors look great on you!

I love the Sushi Boat. Whenever we go to the movies at Regency, if we are wanting some sushi that is where we go. Love the whole concept of the sushi boat.

Out of all these Clarins Bikini Pink is my fave.

This thing with the pictures is so cool! How do you do it? You could make one huge page with like 100 lip and eye pictures just like this.

    Hi Marisol,

Yah, that’s where El Hub and I go when we have movie dates! Have you ever noticed the weird eagle statue in the corner? It kinda cracks me up…

    Hi Melissa,

That’s a good idea. There’s a special feature that formats the pictures!

    Hope you’re having a good weekend. 🙂

I went out yesterday with my mind on the new Mac Jampacked lipglass…but it looked a little too dramatic on me. I was so disappointed…and then I tried Cherry Blossom and it was so pretty! It came home with me.

    Karen,

I love the Bamboo Pink from Clinique, too. It’s been my “signature” lipstick for a few years now. I wore it with the Bamboo lipliner for my wedding in January 🙂

Really like your blog, and Tabs cracks me up. He looks and acts like my cat, Tiger…

    Hi Susan,

Congrats on your wedding! Where did you get hitched? Was it a big or small ceremony? As you can tell I love weddings. 🙂

Tabs is being quite a punk right now! He’s climbing all over my desk and refusing to move from the front of my keyboard. How old is Tiger?

We had about 200 people at our wedding and reception, so it was quite a crowd for the little country church in Indiana! Dinner/dance reception at the local country club. We had so much fun! Honeymooned in Vegas and loved it… Thanks for the good wishes!

Tiger is five, and is quite the big baby. I can’t read or work on the computer without him having to be in the middle of it. He can be in the other room and hear me open a book or magazine, and he comes flying in to jump on my lap. Loves being the center of attention! Tabs sounds very similar 🙂
