What Are You Wearing on Your Nails?

August 7th, 2010 by Karen 45 Comments

Sula Paint & Peel Polish in Watermelon with Sula Metallic Top Coat

Well, I was wearing Sula Paint & Peel Polish in Watermelon ($9) under Sula’s Metallic Top Coat until about 30 minutes into The Ghost Writer last night.

That’s when my mind started wandering.

“I wonder how easy it is to peel this stuff off…”

Pretty easy, apparently. 🙂

I don’t think I’m destined to use these paint and peel polishes. The urge to peel is just too strong!

What are you wearing on your nails today?

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

P. S. Oh, here’s what Watermelon looks like by herself (without a top coat):

P.S. In further nail polish news, I was just down at MAC and I pre-ordered Jade Dragon from the Nail Trend collection, it is positively drool-worthy!

Sephora by OPI’s “Ocean Love Potion,” I love it!
On a random note, I finally ventured into an Ulta (at The Promenade in Sac) yesterday! They were the only place I could find that had Urban Decays “Naked” palette in stock. I drove an hour (traffic) and it was well worth it. They’re so big and I was amazed by their nail polish selection. Poor bf was bored out of his mind but I was having a blast and saying “oh, ah” a million times. I had to share this hahaha

Never heard of this paint & peel nail polish! Seems really cool! (And also fun to peel off, haha! I don’t think I could resist the urge to peel either, hehe.)

What I’m wearing right now is OPI’s Bling Dynasty! (And on my pinky nails I put a layer of China Glaze’s Fairy Dust, just to try it. It’s pretty, but it isn’t really working — silver glitter on top of gold glitter…)

Nothing 🙁 I tried to paint them last night with Nicole by OPI in Don’t Cloud Me, but for some reason, it was impossible to apply. It was almost like it needed hours of drying time between coats, or else it practically slid off my nail in a gloopy sheet. Way bizarre. I hope it was just a bad bottle, because it’s such a pretty, sparkly white!

Rimmel Lasting Finish Pro, Steel Grey. Rimmel may be my new favorite polish — that wide, rounded brush is awesome. I think I did my nails in record time, with minimal clean-up. I’ve always wondered why companies insist on making the end of the brush flat — my cutcles aren’t shaped like that!

There’s no way a peel-off polish would last more than a day on me. I would spend the whole day counting down the time until I could go home and peel it all off.

Ugh I’m a peeler too- as much as I love peely polishes, I’m with you on the “it’s waaaay too tempting” front. Right now I’m wearing Deborah Lippmann My Romance on my toes, and Sally Hansen Gunmetal on my tips!

I actually don’t have anything on my nails right now, and am trying to decide which untried nail polish to use after my shower tonight. Monday I’m going to Sally’s to check and see if they’ve gotten the fall China Glaze collection in yet — as if I need any more nail polish…

Those peel-off polishes wouldn’t last five minutes on me. Too tempting!

I love that colour, not to keen on the easy peel formula though… I’m wearing a Leighton Denny polish called Steel Appeal. it’s a gorgeous gunmetal gray, dark enough for winter & rock-star vibes, but light enough to be an alternate to black.

I’m currently wearing Essie Pretty Edgy on my nails and Sephora by OPI 212 on my index fingers. Essie Turquoise and Caicos on my toes.

I tried the Sula too, but they were so difficult to put on and dried strange on my nails, I ended up taking mine back. Still looking for a lovely bright periwinkle blue!

lol, when I was little I had tons of those play-nail polish sets that you could easily peel off and I would ALWAYS get the urge to peel it as soon as it dried.
no more paint& peel polishes for me 😛
anywho, I’m still wearing my wet n wild (ya heard me!) megalast polish in Private Viewing. I sandwiched that between sally’s nylon basecoat and orly’s top coat 🙂

Flirt by Sally Hansen! Surprisingly long-lasting for a drugstore polish. I love the idea of peelable polishes…but I also would probably succumb too easily to the urge to peel it off. xD

I French manicured my nails with NYC nail polish in 206B East Village on the tips with OPI’s Only Gold for Me topcoat from Sephora over the entire nail. To seal the entire deal I put Sally Hansen’s Ultimate Shield topcoat on top of that. Someone actually asked me where I got my nails done, and I was proud to say I did it myself. 🙂

On my toes is MAC’s Abstract topped with Sephora’s Only Gold for Me topcoat.

I’ve got Lemon Fizz from China Glaze on my fingers and Estee Lauder’s Hollywood Gold on my toes. I wish I had bought more than one bottle of Hollywood Gold, it’s such a close match to my actual skin tone that I don’t want to wear any other colour on my toes. When I was younger, I accidently banged up one of my big toenails and it has never grown back in properly since and want to keep my toenails neutral so I don’t call too much attention to it. If anyone knows of a similar colour out there, please let me know

I didn’t like Sula at all! My grand- children didn’t even like it. And they usually steal my stuff.
Right now my fingers are sculpted with a French gel & my toes have Sally Hansen # 13 Celebrity City; it is a glittery silver but not too too silvery. Looks nice on a pedi.
