I love to wear colour contact lens once in a while. It is a great way to change up your look and usually it is so subtle that most people don’t know what is different about you. I like Freshlook lens and some of the Asian Angel Circle and Nudy brands. I haven’t tried any of the costume lens yet though.

Only if they look somewhat natural. (ie someone has natural hazel eyes, puts on green lenses, that’s passable) Some of the really bright violets, or blues look awfully odd on most people. As well with certain styles, you can see the pin points of color on them.

I’d also worry about the costume lenses that aren’t fitted by an optometrist, they could potentially scratch your eyes and cause damage.

I would love to try them, but I’m not really into placing anything into my eyes 😀 It scars me like hell! 😀

I LOVE colored contacts. The only problem is when the clear hole in the center is smaller than your pupil and you get that fuzzy ring on the outside of your vision. But they look amazing and give your face a whole new character.

I think they look nice and are a great way to change your eye color once in a while. But I would never use them as I’m too scared of putting anything in my eyes.

I would love to, but I wear hard contact lenses because I have really bad eyes, and I’ve never tried wearing soft lenses before. I’ve heard once you try soft you can’t go back to hard, and I need hard lenses to curb my deteriorating eyesight lest I go blind by age 30. I still wanna try soft lenses one day so I can try surfing… 😛

They are ok, but my eyes are so dark that any other color than brown looks like someone had drawn colorful spots with a crayon on my eyeballs! So not really helpful for me.

The ones I’ve seen haven’t looked natural and it can be really distracting when you are talking to someone who is wearing them. If they improved the way they looked, it would be a different story.

I like them when they’re enhancing an eye color, but generally when people with brown eyes wear blue or something, I can totally tell they’re there. It actually looks kinda creepy, like porcelain doll eyes lol

Yes, for Halloween – no for typical every day wear. I think it is SO trashy when you can tell someone is wearing tinted contacts.

I have to say YAY because I had violet in High School and College. That’s when they first came out and I thought they were awesome. I’ve later run into people that I met at that time and they’ve asked me if I was NOW wearing green lenses because they thought my eyes were violet. I guess they looked pretty natural at the time and I was the only person I knew who had them, so no one I met questioned it. 🙂 I still love the idea, but contacts are a pain in the bum. I highly recommend laser eye surgery instead.

I wear colored contacts every day. In seventh grade, it was aquamarine at first but half way through the year, they discontinued that color so I switched to evergreen. 17 years later, I’m not sure I want to do laser eye surgery. Not only because you can’t wear eye make-up for 2 weeks after, but because I’d have to give up my eyes. I naturally have blue-green eyes but I love the fact that they go totally green. Most people don’t even notice anything un-natural unless the sun catches them a certain way. Even then, they still aren’t sure since, evidently, it goes with my complexion well.

Anyway, I would totally try outrageous colors for Halloween or the like but only if they were available through my optometrist.

Although, I was in a musical once with someone that had cat eyes. It actually came across as somewhat subtle on her (don’t ask me how) but I never thought to ask where she got them.

Yay for Halloween, or for natural-looking ones — like if a green-eyed gal picked up lightly-green-tinted contacts, or even if a grey-eyed gal wanted to go violet. But imo, NAU for circle lenses (they just creep me out, and it’s never a good idea to buy contacts online!) or iris changes (;ike when you go from brown to blue, which never looks natural…)

So basically, yay if it’s believable or if the wearer knows it isn’t — nay if they look fake but the wearer isn’t aware of it!

Like wigs and fake nails – I say nay to colored contacts. Maybe for a wicked Halloween costume but I don’t get people who wear them on a regular basis. It just looks way too fake and a bit creepy.

Nay… maybe for a costume they’d be cool. But, other than the whole possibility of injuring your eye (I’m such a klutz, I don’t even wear normal contacts!), they’re never convincing. It’s so obvious when people wear them, that’s it’s pretty distracting to hold a conversation… come on, I know your eyes aren’t really purple!

i actually wear colored contacts at least 5 days out of the week. I have naturally dark brown eyes, and when i asked my optometrist about colored contacts, she recommended i try gray. i thought it sounded kinda iffy, that it wouldn’t look good. but once i tried them on, i was sold. the color is definitely different from my actual color, but they still look so natural! in fact, no one knows they’re contacts unless i tell them! people always compliment me on my eye color, thinking it’s real! i was even runner up for “best eyes” in senior year of high school! haha. i do agree that things like bright blues and purples look obviously fake, and odd for constant everyday wear. once in a while, sure! a fun way to change up your look, especially if you already wear contacts for corrective vision in the first place. as long as you’re not trying to pass them up as your real color (in other words, LIE about your eye color) i think it’s fine. but colors like gray, hazel, even light golden browns look beautiful, and natural enough to wear often in my opinion! =] I say YAY!

If I could tolerate touching my eyes in general, I would try colored contact lenses. Weird colors for special occasions for sure. Like pink, because it’s my favorite color.

I think they’re fun! I put on light brown ones once in awhile and my friend experiments with violet and green. I think they’re a subtle difference and most of the time people can’t tell she has them on.

I would love to wear colored contacts, but between my vision (it’s the combo of nearsightedness and astigmatism that makes contacts really hard to find in my prescription) and my allergies/sensitive eyes (very easily irritated), they really don’t work well for me. I’d also love to try circle contacts, but same problems. No purple eyes for me. =(

It depends… if they’re natural looking. I have blue eyes, so I can get away with blue contacts. I wear non-tinted lenses daily, which, in some ways, helps with eye makeup application, as I’m never afraid to touch my eye (for lining of the tightline, etc.) and more precise looks with liner.

    Unless they’re prescribed, heck no.
But there’s that neverending fear that I won’t be able to take the contact out or it scratches my retina… or cornea… ughh!

I get a lot of heat on this, but I wear colored contacts nearly every day. I have to wear contacts because I’m basically blind, and I generally opt for my Freshlook lenses (gray, honey, or amethyst). They just make my eyes pop. I don’t know if they look natural, as I’m Asian and gray or amethyst-colored eyes aren’t the typical iris color, they aren’t totally unnatural to the point where it’s distracting. I love them.

I wear contacts regularly, so I have no issues putting them in my eyes, but they just look fake to me. If I see someone with purple irises, the first thing that pops into my head is how odd it looks. It’s distracting. I used to want something more exotic, like green or blue eyes, but I have brown eyes that look good in any color, so I have no need to try anything else 😉

Unless they look super unreal besides those fantasy like ones for play or halloween. I would say no if it’s looks really fake. But I wanted to try a shade lighter than my own like hazel green or geo lenses. Sometimes I see people mostly teens with bright grey or purple when it just looks silly! Some can pull it off.

I wouldn’t want to wear these, I already love my gray eyes. My girl from work wants us all to get colored contacts for Halloween since the entire bar staff is gonna be X-Men, my bosses are even dressing up as Storm and Professor X! It would be fun, but I already wear contacts because my eyesight is so poor. Where my girl gets her’s aren’t prescription, and I’m not even sure they’re safe per say.

I don’t like coloured contacts. I wore some grey/blue ones in high school for prom (I have green/blue eyes) and they just looked so fake. 😐 A good friend of mine wears them and I can always see the awkward, distinctive ring around the outside where the colour ends.

When I used to wear contacts I asked my optometrist to show me color-enhancing lenses. My eyes are a medium-tone green-brown. The doc said (and showed me) that eyes in my tone are difficult to get a good color change result. Very dark eyes or very pale eyes can have a dramatic color change, but for medium-tone eyes the best result is a slight boost in the color. The best result for me was a slightly greener eye.

Anyway, I had Lasik a few years ago, and would never go back to contacts. A few weeks without eye makeup is a small price to pay!

I don’t like them at all. They’re like hair extensions: They all look super fake and yet everyone who wears them swears that no one can tell. Newsflash: we can.

I am particularly saddened when I see my POC sisters wearing them. Blue/green/hazel/etc. contacts are just like skin “brightening” (i.e. whitening) creams. They are potentially hazardous to our health and the only reason we use them is because we’ve been socialized into believing that European features are more beautiful than our own.

Just say no to internalized racism and those awful, awful blue contacts.

I like colored contacts, but they never looked that natural on me because I have brown eyes. I used to wear blue ones, but I know they looked fake! That was 10 years ago – maybe they are better now. The biggest problem is that they totally obscured my vision and made everything slightly blurry (I tried 2 or 3 different brands). The doctor said there was no way around it – that’s how they work. So I gave up on them because I like to be able to see as clearly as possible.

As a contact lense wearer for the last 23 years! I believe you meant coloured contact lenses. Tinted contacts are the REALLY NATURAL option for me (the only option actually). Coloured contacts, unless your eyes are light and/or the contacts are at least Solotica (or even better custom hand painted for you which cost at least 300euros) , are a waste of time if you don´t want to look like Lil Kim with holographic eyes…NO NO NO….now note Paris Hilton /wether you like her or not very few people know she actually has hazel eyes, not the baby blues she´s been sporting forever. Yes she has brown eyes, but wears very good contacts. It´s all about the quality if you´re going for a natural look. Acuvue 2 enhancers which have been discontinued, or Focus Softcolors (also discontinued) where great options for those who wanted a subtle change, now you can find more expensive options like Biomedics 55 Evolution Colors or Weflex 55 Colours which are yearly lenses which cost about 160euros the pair, but are done to your measure and won´t damage your eyes, a great way of enhancing your look with an elegant touch. Cheers
