Bask in the Glow of the Urban Decay Afterglow Glide-On Cheek Tints

Urban Decay Afterglow Glide-On Cheek Tint in Quickie on cheeks and Crush on lips

Urban Decay thinks they found a way to package post-workout cheeks, so now we can get that lit-from-within glow without having to step foot on a treadmill (YEA!).

There is, of course, another, more enjoyable way to get the same effect, but James Franco isn’t returning my calls.

That second way to glow is probably what Urban Decay was thinking when they gave the seven new Afterglow Glide-On Cheek Tints ($24) their sassy names. And to help you and your partner cover all your bases, they even work on lips.

Fans of coral and peach blushes might like reddish Bang, and/or Indecent, an apricot with golden pearl. Pink ladies should check out hot pink Crush, bubblegum pink Quickie (my fave!), and golden pink Score. And berry lovin’ babes might want to get Greedy (a blackberry) with Fetish, a shimmery mauve.

These have a thin texture and literally melt into my skin. It makes blending a snap, and that makes them great for tight schedules. I’ve just been using clean fingers to lightly dab them onto the plumpest part of my cheeks, aka the apples.

After that, I use the remaining product on my fingers along my cheekbones, fading up and out. At this point, I will reach for a brush, a clean powder brush, and run it over my cheeks to blend everything together, and finish with a few taps on my kisser.

I’m happy with how long these last (about five hours on cheeks and three on lips) and with how much product you get for the price (0.14 oz.). I wouldn’t call them drugstore, but the compacts are pretty good sized. If you know you’re gonna be out and about for a while, it might be nice to have one of these in your purse.

PRICE: $24 for a 0.14-oz. compact
AVAILABILITY: Coming soon to Sephora, Ulta, Macy’s and urbandecay.com
MAKEUP AND BEAUTY BLOG RATING: A

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

P.S. I almost forgot to say TGIF! Doing anything fun this weekend? I think we’re going here for dinner and then maybe coming home to watch a movie. Don’t laugh, but El Hub and I both really love their boxed wine, LOL!

Crush is RAD. It’s like the cream version of MAC Dollymix!

Whatcha up to tonight? I hope there’s cream cheese frosting involved.

        I loooove dollymix!

No cream cheese frosting, but my hubby is getting me krispie kreme at this very moment. It’s sad because I tried to eat well today and I’m left craving sugar. Like it’s all I can think about and I dont think I’ll ever be happy again if I don’t get a doughnut. Anyway, other than that my evening consisted of my healthy dinner ( salad with herb chicken – yawn) and watching avatar. What’s up with your Friday night?

This would be great to layer beneath it.

I’m surprised you didn’t go with him so you could just gobble the doughnuts right as they got off the conveyor belt! That’s what I do when I get a Krispy Kreme attack! He better come back with ’em fresh and piping hot.

Right now I’m finishing up a little bit more writing and listening to my stomach grumble. I think we’re going to get pizza tonight… YES. 🙂

Lol, well I like the ones with chocolate icing, and usually just the plain ones are HOT. But I nuke em for 7 secs and they are PERFECT. Yummmm.

Pizza sounds perfect for a Friday night! Have any plans this weekend? Tomorrow I’m gonna check out a baking supply store and maybe go see Harry Potter. And Sunday I’m gonna finish my Christmas shopping! I just need to get some stocking stuffers since I bought all my gifts online 🙂

They look so pretty and lush. I can’t wait to try them. I’m so “into” creams for cheeks at the moment.

But… You know you can’t bust out cute earrings like that without telling us more about them! C’mon, now!

      Hey babe,

I got those at Forever 21 for like $7 bucks! I usually buy costume jewelry ’cause I end up losing it, ya know?

Which cream blushes are your faves?

      Hi MKDallas,

The texture’s slightly more thicker (less “jell like”) and these are more opaque. I find them easier to blend as well!

LOL – James Franco doesn’t know what he’s missing!

Wow I’m impressed at how long those last on you. I’m a newish follower so sorry to ask, but it your skin type? I have oily skin so some makeup tends to just slide off my face.

I don’t like the packaging though! I HATE snakes! That would totally freak me out!

Cream blushes scare me. I’ve tried Stila Convertible Color & Tarte Cheek Stains and I can never get the blending quite right. I wind up looking like a crazy old lady with stripes on her cheeks! I’ve only tried applying them with my fingers though – maybe I’m doing something wrong? The colors are really pretty though!

I love the names, so racy lol. I may pick one up to throw in my purse, I hate when my blush disappears in the middle of the workday!

Weekend: Hanging out in DC with hubby, and then he’s going home to entertain some guys at a UFC fight, and I’m staying in DC hanging out with some ppl. Figuring out day–>night makeup- really not as easy as I thought….

I’m off to bed so I can get up at 5:30 AM to shovel a path to my garage and then, snow blow the driveway. yeah.

Then, if I can make it out of my unplowed neighborhood, I’ll risk my life on the highway to make to work, where I will arrive and find that all the appointments have called and canceled. Due to the very reasons I just listed up there. Love me some winter storms.

On Sunday, I’ll be praying my furnace doesn’t die. It’s been giving me problems whenever the temp goes down to 20 degrees. And Sunday we’ll be lucky to reach -1.

Oh Minnesota, you are a cruel cruel !@#$%.

p.s don’t think I haven’t ruled out getting married again, just to have a man around to deal with this crap LOL

I love your earrings!!! So fun!!!! Those blushes look really nice! I keep wondering though if they won’t be pigmented enough to really make an impression. They look lovely on your skin. I think you’ve convinced me to put them on my list of items to purchase for 2011! 🙂

Score Crush and Indecent are mine! Really bummed that UD discontinued their powder blushers though, the powder version of score was so perfect, my favourite blush ever. Somehow I don’t think the cream version will quiteee live up to it’s name.

      Hi Tasha,

These didn’t feel oily on the cheek to me. If your skin is really oily you might want to set it with some translucent loose powder or a powder blush just to make sure it really stays on, though.

Hi Karen 🙂 You look lovely, as usual. These Cheek Tints look really nice. I’ll keep them in mind when I travel.. Urban Decay is another one of those brands that are not available in Scandinavia – at least not in Norway.

Btw, if you’re ever in the city and looking for a good place to eat, do try Destino. It’s a really nice, fun Peruvian restaurant. Here’s a Yelp link: http://www.yelp.com/biz/destino-san-francisco
