Burt’s Bees $6 Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream Makes Nails Cuter and Cuticles Better

December 11th, 2010 by Karen 22 Comments

Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream

Oh, Burt, baby, where’ve you been all my life? Your $6 Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream ($6) has been like manna from heaven to the shredded carrots I call cuticles. The rich, all-natural nail treatment smoothes the dry, cracked crevices around my nails while strengthening the nails themselves with sweet almond oil, vitamin E and cocoa butter. It keeps cuticles moisturized for hours, and the light lemony scent smells downright delicious.

The thick wax-like consistency takes longer to massage in than my trusty Sephora Cuticle Pen, but because of it the product also feels more substantial on my tips, which I like. I use it off and on throughout the day, but my favorite time to use it is right before bed, on both my fingernails and toenails (so it can work its magic overnight).

Hmm… Since it’s not tested on animals, I bet Tabs would like to get one in his stocking. He’s always complaining about his claws.

PRICE: $6 for a 0.6-oz. tin (a little larger than a silver dollar)
AVAILABILITY: At most drugstores, grocery stores and burtsbees.com
MAKEUP AND BEAUTY BLOG RATING: A+

I have used this for over a year now and LOVE it. It is so nourising to my nails and cuticles, which admittedly are NOT terribly dry, but winter is coming. It has that fresh lemon scent (the boy loves when I use this). It isn’t too greasy but completely refreshes my cuticles and nails. Must have!

I always just use cuticle oil. Which I hate because the one I have takes forever to ‘soak’ into my cuticles.. See if I they ship this overseas.

I love this stuff too! I have little pots of it all over the place and carry it with me in my bag wherever I go so I can use it regularly. it keeps my cuticles in tip top condition better than anything else i’ve tried!

Am using Lush’s Lemony Flutter – am loving it. Burt’s Bees looks just as good (better ?) going by the ingredients list 🙂

I knoooow I’m not supposed to but I just cut my cuticles off. Much simpler. I never have raggedy cuticles, haha.

This SAVED me when it started getting cold (the kind of dry-cold where you randomly start getting little cuts on your hands and you realize it’s because there is NO MOISTURE AT ALL in your skin… ugh). Love it. I’m not huge on the scent, actually (too many run-ins with lemon pine-sol as a child, I think), but it’s not overpowering enough to keep me from using the stuff 🙂

I’m not crazy about Burt’s Bees overall (they’re a wee bit pretentious and a little less effective than I prefer), but I really love this cuticle cream!

Gotta say, cuticle care products completely baffle me. I just don’t understand what they are supposed to do! I always see products claiming to melt them off or heal them and don’t get it. To each their own, but there’s no way I’d spend money on something made specifically for the tinyyyy little bit of skin at the bottom of my nails!

I love this product, but HATE the container! It’s so difficult to open, especially if you’re doing a hand/nail treatment and you’re hands and nails may already be moisturized and slippery. It just seems odd to me that something for your nails would be so difficult to open and you run the risk of damaging your nail in the process! I use this fairly often, but really wish they’d put this lovely product in new packaging.
