Another year, another gaggle of gorgeous (and some not so gorgeous) makeup collections. There sure were some doozies this year. Innovative products, imaginative color palettes and provocative imagery propelled several ahead of the pack.
Some, like the MAC Fabulous Felines collection, really resonated with me and my cat lady soul (didn’t the three color stories for Felines make such perfectly good sense?). It also introduced me to the awesome MAC Superslick Liquid Eye Liners. Tabs and I still purr when we think about the Fab Felines release…
I also went coco for the chocolate browns and playful pinks in the Chanel Les Tentations de Chanel Holiday 2010 collection, but I think I still preferred Fab Felines overall.

I loved the smokey eye shadow Taupe Gris and the Quad in Enigma and Paradoxal was one of my favourite polish releases of the year. The Rouge Coco’s and Glossimers were to die for too.

I’ll have to say that Venomous Villains by MAC was my favourite collection this year.
Love that they finally showcased the wicked queens and stepmothers from Disney.

Enigma, Paradoxal, Pink Explosion and Taupe Gris quickly became all-time favorites for me. I bought almost the entire collection and I’m still happy with every single item!

The vibe it set for this summer was just perfect for Summer 2010 with all the bright, sunshiney corals and then the colorful ocean colors. It matched perfectly with my summer, thats for sure.

Loved the packaging.. it was released the day that I was leaving for vacation and I just had to drop by the store to pick up a few things before!

My original thought was Venomous Villains because of how exciting of a launch it was and how much $$$ I spent, but looking back, I think it was probably MAC to the Beach because I really love tan glowing skin and corals and bright colors the most..then THAT makes me think of the really bright Lady Gaga inspired Dare to Wear eyeshadows and glitter glosses of which I bought almost everything too….but then I think of what items I really wear the most regularly, and THAT brings me to the cremesheen glosses released with In the Groove (also a large haul)!!! Wow what a tough decision.
I spent a reDONKulous amount of money on MAC this year. They should personally thank me. All of my freelance paychecks pretty much get all turned right back in to them. LOL. My vote is for…..VENOMOUS VILLAINS for the most hype-worthy launch in years. A definate stand out in a year of really terrific products and launches. This launch was full of exciting colors, great stories, and innovative products. Whoever thought of co-branding these products in this way really deserves a raise…or their own small island nation to rule. It really rallied even the softest of MAC fans to join in the fun of emulating some of the greatest villains in ALL of movie history really…a tough challenge! Go MAC in 2011! 🙂

This is tough though, because Fabulous Felines and To the Beach were also really awesome collections! I’m actually wearing the Burmese Beauty quad today! I thought MAC had several big winners this year, even the smaller Pret a Papier was quite dangerous for me, and In the Groove was great too!

Spring Forecast was freakin huge and very wearable. I loved all the lip glasses, lipsticks and the quads were amazing. Wasn’t crazy about anything else by Mac this year…can’t wait for the Wonder Woman collection, hopefully it isn’t a let down!
