Chanel Le Fleurs D’Ete de Chanel Summer 2011 Makeup Collection: A Friday First Look

February 11th, 2011 by Karen 28 Comments

chanel le fleurs d'ete de chanel makeup collection for summer 2011

Can I just say my coral-lurvin’ heart nearly burst into a million tiny pieces when I laid eyes on this promo pic for the upcoming Le Fleurs D’ete De Chanel Makeup Collection for Summer 2011?

That’s how easy I am when it comes to Chanel… I can even feel my loins wallet throbbing.

Coco and company say they drew inspiration from fresh flowers and summer gardens — picture shimmery pink lips, bronzed skin, and eyes and nails the colors of verdant green gardens and the bright summer sun.

We can expect…

  • Face — Do you recall the Soleil Tan de Chanel Bronzing Powder from Cote D’Azur? Well, the Bronze Corail compact, the beauty with the four stripes of color in the middle of the pic, is the same idea with different shades. All four of the stripes are designed to be mixed together before being applied. For Le Fleurs D’ete De Chanel, Coco plans to release two limited edition Soleil Tan de Chanel Bronzer compacts ($50 each). Light-skinned lovelies can look forward to the one called Bronze Rose, and darker-toned babes to Bronze Corail (the one shown here).
  • Lips — Lips will glow in two new Glossimers shades, one a coral and the other a rosy pink ($28.50 each; I don’t have the names yet).
  • Nails — Last, but not least, our fingers and toes will sap up the bright summer sun in a shimmery yellow Le Vernis Nail Polish for $25.

Look for the collection to illuminate shelves this March. 🙂

I am so excited for this collection! I saw a pic with the rosy-coral lips and nails and I am in luuuuurve! I’m also kinda excited for Mimosa, if anyone can make a yellow polish I can wear, it’ll be Chanel! 🙂

P.S. Scored big today at the Barney’s GWP event! I’m in little sample heaven!

Chanel seems to be taking more and more of my money lately. Not really feeling that bronzer (even mixing the shades together I think it would be too dark for my skintone) but the coral glossimer sends lusty shivers down my spine. Can it please be summer NOW?

looking forward to swatches of Mimosa! Pictures show it as more of a cool-toned yellow, but I’m hoping it will magically go with my warm skintone anyway

I spent too much on the spring collection so I am trying to be good for the summer collection! But so far it’s not looking good, I picked up Boy tonight & can’t wait for the new foundation – Vitalumiere Aqua to come out. I love Chanel! 🙂

I don’t know. Sometimes Chanel just is not worth the money, but I will easily change my mind when I know formulas and see swatches…but no yellow nail polish for me…for sure

The yellow nail polish caught my attention. Not a big fun of Chanel, but the collection is very cheerful and beautiful. Might soon become one.

I have the bronzer from last year and love it (but I can’t seem to justify needing another one since it is lasting so long!) The nail polish will have to join my collection though! I’m pretty sure that Chanel will be the only brand that can produce a yellow polish that will look fine with my pale complexion. They managed an orange (Orange Fizz) and peach (Peche Nacree) that work so I’m keeping my fingers crossed!

My next Chanel purchase however is going to be one of the new Vitalumiere aqua foundations, but I have to travel for an hour to test them out!

Hi, first able I just want to tell you that I absolutely LOVE your blog! 🙂 But I’d also like to ask you for a ”faviour”, I’d get so happy if you could make a post about where you keep your make-up, you know if you keep them in boxes or jars or in lockers etcetera.. It would give me so much insperation because I really need to improve my make-up storage! Thanks in pre-election!

I was so excited when the girls at my store put together the display for this collection because it was a rainy crummy day and then BOOM, there was SUMMER! I just wanted to attack the eyeshadows and play with the colors, even though i’ve always hated khaki, because there’s something so beautiful about them. I love seeing the khaki green, which i’ve always associated with tough, down to earth, well, earthy tones, paired with the pretty fairy pinks 🙂
The Soleil Tan bronzing powders are basically perfection, just the right combination of just the right colors tempts me to splurge and spend money i definitely do not have.
The eyeliner in Rose Platine is such a cool color. I want it, i don’t know what i would do with it, but i want it. (if anyone has looked at the Chanel website, the color looks totally wrong on there, go play with it in person!)
The polishes are so cute! The yellow surprised me at first, but i love how Chanel has decided to be a little fun for summer 🙂
On another note, i just found a review you did of the Flamingo Le Vernis color about this time of year in 2008, and i can’t believe the price has jumped 6 dollars in 3 years. Yikes! That’s quiet a markup!
