Dior Blue Tie Palette: New for Fall 2011

July 19th, 2011 by Karen 18 Comments

Pictures and swatches of the new Dior Blue Tie Palette ($70! — WOW!) for fall 2011, coming soon to Dior.com and available now at Nordstrom stores.

Quick first impressions…

  • The pigments — The blue shadows apply sheer; the shimmery gray and black ones apply with medium pigmentation.
  • Texture — The four shadows feel harder and less buttery to me than the Dior shadows I’ve tried in the past. I’ll be able to tell more after I’ve some time with them.
  • The gloss — A creamy pink, unflavored and unscented. It leans toward the cool side of the spectrum.

What do ya think of the colors? The price isn’t exactly great…

Pretty but I’ve never been very good with blue eyeshadows 🙁 so I’m going to let this one pass me by…

Not worth $70. But the Tuxedo polish was very pretty and worth the price if you don’t already have a deep blue.

I feel like i already have too many similar colors to those shadows! If the colors were incredibly unique I would definitely pay the $70

I have similar colours to these as well but I would still love to see a FOTD for some inspiration on how to use these! I’ve never been able to do more than just a blue/grey smokey eye and would like some new ideas.

its a gorgeous palette and i love that they have a little door to keep the lipgloss from getting stray powders in it, but $70 is so expensive! especially when your first impressions weren’t raves

Wha, What, What!?!?!? $70 for four eyeshadows and a gloss?? Sure the colors are pretty but I’m sure I’d be able to find similar dupes for half the price.

Love Dior but am unimpressed by this overpriced underpigmented offering. Pass.
