Deep Thoughts with Caress Sheer Twilight Fine Fragrance Elixir Body Wash in Black Orchid and Juniper Oil…

July 22nd, 2011 by Karen 39 Comments

Deep thoughts I have in the shower while using the new Caress Sheer Twilight Fine Fragrance Elixir Body Wash in Black Orchid and Juniper Oil…

Caress Sheer Twilight

  • Who would win in a fight between Twilight’s Vampire Edward and True Blood’s Vampire Bill? How about the same fight between Vampire Edward and Vampire Eric?
  • What if Vampire Bill fought Angel from Buffy?
  • Would the Cullen family, self-professed “vegetarian vampires,” drink True Blood? And if so, would they buy it in cases from Costco?
  • Is it possible for vampires to turn their pets, and if so, should they? If I had to live for eternity as a member of the undead, I’m sorry, Tabs, you’re coming with me.
  • If you’re human and the sight of blood makes you queasy, does that queasiness carry over if you’re turned?
  • Would Vampire Eric use this new Caress body wash (in the shower, naked)? How would he feel about warm, cozy scents?

LOL! All it takes is the word “twilight” on the bottle to get me thinking about hot vampire dudes… 🙂 I wonder if that’s what Caress wanted when they chose the product’s name.

As far as affordable drugstore shower gels go (THREE BUCKS!), this one’s not half bad. It uses something Caress calls their “silky fragrance infusion,” which for me basically translates into the scent lasting and lingering on my skin long after I step out of the shower. Officially, the fragrance is described as black orchid and juniper oil, but it reminds my nose of Pottery Barn potpourri.

It’s not the kind of scent I’m usually drawn to — I tend to prefer fresher, brighter, more citrusy florals or scents with watery notes — but I like the execution here. I can see gals who love spicy, cozy fragrances and scents like warm amber and vanilla liking it, too.

It doesn’t take a lot of product to get a big, foamy lather going, which is great, so I bet a bottle would last months. It also rinses clean away rather easily without drying out my skin.

PRICE: $3 for a 12-oz. bottle
AVAILABILITY: Available now at drugstores and also online
MAKEUP AND BEAUTY BLOG RATING: B+

Karen

Not even a question who would win a vampire battle. Bill and Eric would show Edward the true death barely launching a fang!

This scent isn’t up my alley, I’m more of a clean scent, clean shower gal myself… unless Eric was there. That’s another story. 😉

Haha, I’m hoping there will be a shower scene w/Vampire Eric this season. Vampires have to shower, right? I wouldn’t want to smell like dirt all night long.

My mom bought Caress soap when I was a kid. It felt like a “grown up lady” soap to me, Like the women who used it would read Cosmopoitan and have fancy drinks in nice Manhattan restaurants. LOL.I had to use Dial or Irish Spring. When I got old enough to choose my own bath products, I would buy vanilla scented lotions and fruity shower gels from The Body Shop and Bath and Body Works. I went a little crazy when I was a teen, and I would clutter my shelf with at least a dozen different bottles of bath and lotion products. 🙂

Haha, I had to use Irish Spring too. Do you remember the commercials where the guy shaves a slice of the soap bar off with a knife? For some reason I’ve always wanted to do that.

See why I love your blog? My goodness, scrolling down happily and then BAM! Huge Eric picture. 🙂

Sheer Twilight sounds like it might be a nice fall or winter scent. Like you, I’m more of a fan of the clean shower scents. I’m devoted to St Ives Collagen & Elastin, but I’ll definitely give the Caress a sniff, just out of curiosity.

We can keep our fingers crossed for the Eric/shower scene!

I know he’s hot shirtless and all, but I like him in clothes, too. 😀

Kinda random, but I just watched a show on Style network called Big Rich Texas. Have you heard of it? Not that I need any more bad reality TV in my life, but I think I might already be addicted.

Haha, El Hub got roped into it too. “This is WAY better than that Real Housewives crap you watch sometimes. You should get a on season pass!”

Dallas seems a lot more lush and green than I imagined it to be.

dallas is pretty … and pretty expensive!

our only pro store is in dallas and when we visited that store, i did major damage.

plus, i think neiman marcus started out from dallas. 🙂

Edward wouldn´t stand a chance against either Bill or Eric. No doubt about it.
Now, a fight between Bill and Angel? I´d say Angel, hands down. He´s way more badass than Bill.
The Cullens and TrueBlood? Yes, they´d RUN to get it! Because as goody-goody as they are this is a way to survive without even having to kill an animal. Yay.
I like the thought of having your pet around forever because it makes me so sad that we lose them after only a few years…I do wonder if they´d turn feral though.
I don´t think a vamp would be queasy at the sight of blood since it would be the supernatural equvalent of an eating disorder…
Then again, I love reading the Kate-Daniels-series by Ilona Andrews and one of the characters is a mythical white were-tiger who´s a vegetarian and does indeed get queasy at the sight of blood. Doesn´t mean she can´t kick your as in a fight though…and she WILL bite, if necessary. :o)

Edward does not deserve to be called a vampire as long as he sparkles. =P Everyone wins against him.

LOL!! That’s really thought provoking I should say. Oh, Edward won’t have a chance with Eric because he’s older than Edward. About true Blood.. hmmm.. what about we write an open letter to the Cullens? And true, what would happen to the pets.. i hope a vampire reads this post.

I’m game for all kind of scents in my shower gel, but I have a kind of weakness of tangy or orange-ish smells. Would you believe last time I bought a shower gel from TBS with a discount which is almost equivalent to $4??

I kindasorta hope a vampire reads this post too. Well, as long as they’d wouldn’t want to make me a meal. Maybe I need to start wearing turtlenecks in my FOTDs, haha!

Have you ever tried TBS Pink Grapefruit shower gel? That was my jam for years.

Angelus wins. Every time. I’d even place money on brooding, I-have-a-soul-now Angel. But Angelus? No question.

Off the vampire track, but the only person I could see going up against Angelus and winning–maybe–is Hannibal Lecter. Battle of the genius twisted IQs.

I also second that vampires don’t sparkle. Or go vegetarian. This is as ridiculous as my cat going veggie. And I suppose whether animals can be turned would depend on whether you think an animal has a soul to be subverted/taken, correct?

The Angelus and Hannibal match would be epic. It would be a close call, that’s for sure.

As for animals being turned… well, crap. I didn’t think about Tabs transforming into Even More Evil Tabs. Maybe he’d even go feral?

Karen So I went to the American Idol concert last night I tried my best to do your Nars outremer .. I was at the meet and greet and Thia complimented me on my makeup yeahhhh!! 🙂 Then I had Paul sign my Twilight bracelet that an Austin artist made by his future wife’s picture .. he was like that’s a first, she’ll dig that! I gave you props for the makeup of course! I’ll send you a pic! The girls all were wearing mac I wanted to send a pic of Pia to see if you could tell what lip gloss she was wearing. The only part I guessed right is it was MAC but they didn’t know which ones it looked a lot like one you wear! I had fun also using those hair streaks by Milani … have you tried those?

    Thanks!!

i love caress black orchid/juniper oil scent – it makes my skin very soft and smells wonderful.
it doesn’t take a lot to get enough lather for your entire body.
i would really like to see if there is a lotion or spray that would enhance this- does anyone know if they make one?

I found this article/forum by googling my wish for a perfume or body spray of this fragrance. If anyone knows of something like this please let me know. You may e’mail me if you wish. Thanks.
