Beautiful… I had an orchid that had very similar coloring, but it really didn’t like my apartment very much!!! It grows lots of leaves 🙂 Hopefully I’ll get a spike and it will flower again.

Have you tried feeding it orchid food? That might speed it along.

I had one that I moved from my apartment. I’ve had it for over 6 months and now that I moved it to Slowvato, it didn’t like the weather so it died. Boo!

Orchids seem to do really well out in the Outer Aves. My BFF lives in the Sunset and her orchids always, always look good — they love the humidity! So far I haven’t managed to kill this one (knock on wood).

How are things up here with you? I keep forgetting that you’re right down the street!

I love Orchids and unfortunately so do my birds,my Plumheaded Parakeet has a habit of flying over to my Orchids and landing on the stick they attack to the stem and he will bite off all the flowers if he gets away with it. He actually bit the stems in half on two of my Orchids and I am not sure they will ever flower again, does anyone know offhand if they will or once the stem is gone is that it?
