Tabs the Cat, international style icon
During his apprenticeship with Tim Gunn, Tabs learned some very valuable lessons about the cat-eat-cat world of feline high fashion, one of them being to always stay ahead of the trends. Fall behind for even a minute, and the gossip/celeb/style mags and blogs will skewer you.
Luckily, Tabs has a solid team of talented stylists surrounding him — professionals who keep him fabulous from head to tail — but sometimes, like now during NYFW, those professionals are too busy for Tabs, and I get tasked to help.
Which brings us to this: hats. This fall Tabs needs clever, stylish headgear to keep his ears warm and his bad fur days covered while remaining fashion-forward all the way.
I did some research this weekend, but I could use a second opinion. Can you help?
Which of these hats would look best on Tabs? Keep in mind that while he values form over function, he likes practical accessories, too.
Who is Tabs the Cat? About three years ago I befriended a stray, flea-bitten tabby cat with a bad case of worms. I could see he’d fallen on hard times, but his profound knowledge of high fashion and department store cosmetics led me to believe that he was more than meets the eye. We became fast friends, and now he’s actually my boss (and a successful kitty model). 🙂

I chose the Robin Hood hat because I believe Tabs is dedicated to using his fame and fortune to promote social justice! Plus, the “feather in his cap” signifies all of his extraordinary accomplishments. Hats off to you, Tabs! 😉
Black Houndstooth. He would look so dignified!
Rocky and Jazz could never wear hats, because they hate “hat fur”. They spend an excessive amount of time grooming their stunning coats. Hats would just mess that up.
Ditto to Soleil Doux- plus- there is the subtle undertone of the feather implying the death of the bird- which all self respecting cats would enjoy. (or at least mine- they have managed to kill birds from the kitchen window in a 6th story apartment- imagine my surprise when i arrived home to find a massacre and feathers everywhere)
Missy and I voted for the houndstooth top hat, and she would like to request the red beret for herself, but would like to know if it comes in raspberry, as she is quite the Prince fan! Mommy has trained her well!

With the Robin Hood Hat, Tabs can maneouver about like the namesake with little effort — fast, agile, sneaking those delicious flowers on the porch.
Okay… the picture of the cat wearing the black houndstooth top hat?? That cat’s face is priceless. I couldn’t stop laughing at it.

Definitely choice 3. Although I think the best choice for Tabs is the squishy grey hat that he’s wearing in the first picute cause it makes him extra soft and huggable.

OMG, I’m laughing so hard right now! Love, love, love the robin hood hat! My cat is sitting on my desk with me right now as I type this. He’s giving me the “don’t even think about it look”, hahaha.
umm… the kitties dun look that happy with the hat on. LOL.

Okay, the froggy hat is freakin’ adorable but I caught a glimpse of that cat’s paw/foot and almost threw up in my mouth! Don’t know what it is, his face is cute enough and I adore kitty cats, but…YIKES!!! No appetite for dinner now… 😛
Robin Hood cat hat is all the rave! It’s so freakin’ cute-and matches the model cat’s eyes so well (and, apart from the eye colour, the cat just resembles my best friend’s cat sooooooo much :D)
I work at the local humane society and am always looking for ways to make the adoptable kitties stand out in pictures using stuff like this. These are great!
