Killer Kushionz Make High Heels Comfortable

November 23rd, 2008 by Karen 17 Comments

I swear, there must be a law of fashion nature that dictates that the hotter a strappy sandal looks, the more uncomfortable it has to be. Seriously, it’s like the yin and yang of sexy shoes.

I’ve been wearing high heels for years, but that doesn’t mean they don’t still make my feet hurt. Yesterday, for Jen’s wedding, I decided to try something new.

I inserted Killer Kushionz by Foot Petals ($12.95) in my gold BCBGirls high heels.

They’re designed to cushion the heel, arch and ball of your foot and also work like grip tape to keep your foot from slipping and sliding around (I hate it when my toes slide down the front of my sandals).

Made out of breathable foam, they don’t get hot, either, which means they don’t make my feet sweat (sexy!).

A super adhesive sticker keeps each pad in place, and they’re perfectly sized (but can still be trimmed to fit if necessary), so they fit well under your feet without obviously sticking out. That means they won’t make your great shoes look like orthopedic sneakers, LOL!

How well do they work? Well, normally after 5-6 hours in my 3.5-inch gold heels my dogs would have been KILLING me, but with Killer Kushionz I was relatively pain free in those same heels for 10 straight hours.

I am so totally sold on Killer Kushionz. They’re like Dr. Scholl’s for high heels! And they even come in pretty colors (I got them in rose). 🙂

Foot Petals Killer Kushionz

Price: $12.95 each; $34.95 for a three pack
Use: To make high heel shoes more comfortable

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

P.S. El Hub and I drove down to Key West this afternoon, which is about 220 miles south of Boca Raton. We’ll be here for a couple days before returning to the Bay Area on Wednesday. Ernest Hemingway, one of my favorite writers, had a home here, and I’ve always wanted to visit. After his death the home was turned into a museum, and today the property is also home to more than 60 cats! Hemingway had a thing for cats, and he protected his feline descendants in his will. How cool is that?

I will have to check these out especially for all the holiday celebrations coming up. Need to make sure my tootsies don’t hurt.

Enjoy your time off. It is freezing over in the Valley so I am sure it’s worse in the Bay Area.

    Hi Marisol,

These will save your feet, for sure. You can also use ’em in flats, too.

Eek, I remember those freezing days/nights in the Valley! I don’t miss that.

When will you be coming back to the Bay?

BUT, I will be moving back to the Bay Area (SF more precisely) in December since I finally got a job n the city. :happy dance:

    Hi Monika,

You’re welcome! These really saved my booty during the wedding. I need pairs now for all my heels.

I hope they work for you, too. 🙂

Wow, these sound awesome! My mom has always been nagging me to wear heels more often (I’m barely 5 foot!) and with these I might be able to.

Have a great time in Key West! How nice that you and El Hub and steal a few days for yourselves. I’ve never been there but I have been to Boca Raton for a biz trip and I’m pretty confident in saying that you’ll probably have more to do there than in Boca 😉

All of the Foot Petals products are great – check out the rest of them! They have great cushions for the heels…stick-on arch supports (these are new), they even have stick-on cushions for sling-backs so they don’t slip off your feet.

Great company! It must be owned by a woman!

There’s another product called Insolia that’s designed to shift the weight on the ball of the feet backwards towards to heel so that a 3-inch heel will feel like a 1-inch one. I’ve been using that and I think that it works very well too. Plus they are really cheap.

Karen – You totally saved my ass!

I have been trying to break in a new pair of shoes all weekend, and I need something to cushion the heel cup, since my narrow heels always slip out. I checked out the link you provided, and that same company makes heel-grip pads – just what I needed! And it looks like they’re available at nordies at the Corte Madera Village, so hopefully I’ll get a pair when I come back to the bay tomorrow.

    Enjoy Key West!

Sooo jealous you’re in Key West. It’s one of my favorite places in the entire world 🙂 I think I’ve been there 5 times, which is a lot considering I live in cold, miserable Pennsylvania 😛

All this years i have been in flats because my feet cant stand heels…perhaps this would help. can you switch them about in different heels? or once you stick them into a pair, they cant be moved?

    thanks

Wow nice find.. never seen insoles quite like these before. Do they make the shoe significantly tighter when you are wearing them?

I love Ernest Hemingway as well! Since I am from Miami, I go down to the Keys fairly often. I was really surprised and shocked last time I went there, because I heard the city is trying to take away all the cats that live in the house, because the museum doesn’t have documentation that says it can keep pets–and it is considered “hoarding” since there are so many cats. I just don’t think this is fair, this has been a home to these cats for generations, and the Hemingway Cats are being threatened–if they are taken away, their population will likely drop! It is so sad. 🙁
