Blush Technique: The Swirl

January 26th, 2009 by Karen 32 Comments

A few days ago I showed one way to apply blush using a technique called The Bounce (bounce, baby!). Here’s a second method. This one’s nicknamed The Swirl (click for the video).

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

P.S. Tabs says hi. He tried to get in on the video action tonight. What a ham!

Haha Tabs doesn’t want to miss out on the fun 😀

Ooh, I should start holding my brushes on the tip, I usually hold them somewhere in the middle.

    Hi Fie,

I know! He always has to be up in the makeup mix. 🙂

I remember learning at a MAC seminar that holding your brushes in the middle works great (I usually hold my eye brushes there). I hold my blush brushes at the end because I’m afraid of putting too much blush on (I’ve done it way too many times, LOL!).

Whoa Tabs – not your shade!
(My kitties are very attracted to brushes so maybe Tabs feels the same way? Loki and Grendal think they would make fabulous kitty toys.)

I love the Bounce (although I have to repeat the following to myself during application: Bounce, and bounce, and bounce, and bounce. Silly!) so ready to move on to the Swirl.

I love your videos! I really should start holding my brush handles further back, because I’m pretty sure that I hold them too close to the bristles.

    Tabs is too cute 🙂

    Hi Chris,

Surprisingly Tabs ignores my brushes and most of my makeup. He has a thing for my pink bunny slippers and my pant legs, though. 🙂

What cute names you have for your kitties… aww!

    Hi Brittany,

It makes a huge difference in blush application. When it comes to eye brushes I tend to hold the handles in the middle.
