15 Is the Magic Number: Too Faced and Sephora Celebrate the Big One-Five With the New Too Faced Loves Sephora 15 Years of Beauty Palette

So…because I spent so much time ogling shoes and purses at DSW yesterday, I only had five minutes left for Sephora — time I tried to use wisely by swatching the new Too Faced Loves Sephora 15 Years of Beauty Palette ($52). 🙂

The limited edition palette commemorates the 15 years Too Faced and Sephora have worked together.

In it, 10 exclusive eye shadows (each named after a different iconic moment, person or memory in their long-term relationship, cute!), two bronzers, a blush, a tiny tube of Shadow Insurance, a brush and a Glamour Guide with tutorials for 15 looks.

Beauty as meditation

Thursday, my love! love

I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for the weekend.

This morning I was in the mood for curls, so there I was, doing my thang in front of the mirror with the curling iron, when I zoned out for a while…

Then it hit me (no, not the curling iron!). Curling your hair can be kind of meditative.

It was nice and quiet. Not much to do while waiting for the curling iron except to stand there and let your mind wander…

Do you find any beauty rituals to be really relaxing or meditative? For you, what’s the most relaxing one?

Have a good one today, okay? Talk to you in a few.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

I really love the TF’s hearts the Cast & 1998 (good year for me too), but they are all really lovely.

The swatches look pretty. Did you like the palette? Is the pigmentation good?

I hate doing my hair, it’s just too consuming since my hair is very thick and wavy but applying make up is really relaxing for me.

I am going to see The Great Gatsby on Friday so I cannot wait. Other than that no major plans. I am invited to a karaoke bar for my friend’s bday on Sat but it starts at 9pm and I have to work at 4:30am on Sunday so I am afraid I will have to skip and probably my hubby will go by himself.

      Hi Agata,

The pigmentation seems good and the powders are super duper soft! It looks like a pretty good palette, especially if you’re new to Too Faced or want something for travel this summer.

Oh! I just finished re-reading The Great Gatsby in anticipation for the movie this weekend. We’ll probably catch Iron Man tonight and then The Great Gatsby either tomorrow or Saturday. Will you be doing a themed makeup look? I might if I have time, LOL!

I still really want the Boudoir Eyes palette from Too Faced. And Too Faced is having a 20% sale right now…

I was thinking of doing a themed make up look. I just watched a Great Gatsby tutorial by xSparkage! But I cannot wait to see your look, I hope you have time to do it and take a few shots.

Cute palette. I like the idea of a 15 year anniversary palette. I actually find filling in my eyebrows to be relaxing. And I love filling in other people’s brows lol. But that wasn’t always the case.. I used to find it frustrating.

Such a nice idea. Love the names. Putting on makeup is my “me” time and unless I’m in a rush, I enjoy it quite a bit. 🙂

      Hi Icaria,

Me too. How long does it usually take you to put on your makeup in the morning? I average about 20 minutes, but really, if I had all the time in the world, I could easily take 2 hours to get ready, hahaha!

I love Too Faced! Their eyshadow primer is my favorite.

I actually enjoy doing my hair in the morning. It is a nice, relaxing ritual. Having a good hair day is always a nice start to the morning!

      Hi Ruchita,

Their primer is the real deal! Do you use the original one in the blue tube? That’s my fave.

How are you wearing your hair these days? I usually let the waves do their own thing, but on occasion I’ll use a large barrel curling iron or a flat iron. I have a deep waver that I haven’t taken out in ages…must remember to use it!

Yep, the original primer is da bomb! My hair is the longest its been in a while – about shoulder length. I’ll usually flat iron it. On second day hair, I’ll curl it or pull it back in an (intentionally) messy bun. I’ve been watching hair tutorials to get ideas.

Oh, my. There’s like 15 years of frosty in that palette. 🙂

Can I count a hot shower as my most relaxing/meditative beauty routine? And not even the whole shower. Just the part at then end when I’m all rinsed and take a minute to let the water beat on the back of my brain stem (well, neck, really). Ahhh.

      Hi Kim,

Oh gosh, I was thinking the same thing last night! I ran 5 miles on the treadmill, then I made dinner and then puttered around for a bit…when it was finally time to shower that hot water felt AMAZINGLY good.

Yet another reason why I’m not built for the zombie apocalypse – the lack of hot, running water! Remember that scene from The Walking Dead when they were in the CDC and finally got to take showers? That’s from my fave episode in the series so far.

I’m totally with you. I regularly think (when watching the Walking Dead or even Game of Thrones) how awful those people must smell because you just know they haven’t washed in a while – and they’re always all sweaty from fighting. HAHA! I thought exactly the same thing about the CDC scene. I was like “oh, of course they can’t stay… it has beds and SHOWERS!”. I literally couldn’t watch Deadwood on HBO because everyone was too dirty (and don’t get me started on the teeth). Shudder. 🙂

thnx for the swatches! I saw this at Sephora but thought it was nice but pricey. glad I decided to skip because I have all those bronzers and the blush. so I would really just be buying for the shadows and well..lord knows I have plenty of those!

p.s. I love doing my hair in the mornings as long as i’m not in a rush. I also love doing my makeup. its my quiet me time. just me my make up, my dryer and my coffee 🙂

it also sets the tone for the rest of the day. if my hair and makeup are not done I don’t feel right :/

      Hi Yelena,

      You’re welcome. 🙂

I’m the same way with my hair and makeup. If I have to rush then it’s not nearly as fun. Really though, if I had my way it would take two hours to get ready every morning, LOL!

What hair dryer do you use, btw? I’m all about the T3!

Hm…seems pretty but a tad bit too shimmery/frosty for me taste, unfortunately :/

As for meditative beauty rituals, definitely painting nails, taking a bath, exfoliating, or my nightly skincare routine in general!

Bought this this weekend! Totally worth the price! I have been looking for something with everything I would need in one palette. This was perfect! So now I dont have to walk with a ton of makeup in my bag. So now I have this palette, black eye liner, mascara, Hourglass lighting powder in Dim Light and a lip balm. I’m a happy camper!

For my daily “look” for makeup I take 30 mins. I just can’t do it any quicker ha ha. Showering and doing my hair or makeup is really relaxing unless I’m in a hurry. Hate rushing things.

So pretty! I don’t need it, but I like it.
I’m a slowpoke with makeup but, like you said, it’s “me” time! I can’t stand doing my hair though. Anything longer than a few minutes for my hair is too long. Which is a shame because I’m a long, thick haired girl, and it would probably look nice if I did more than just brush it, haha…on the other hand, it’s very healthy!

The colors look nice but there are too many shimmery shades and I don’t really know when I would use these colors.
