Rise and shine, fellow lover of colorful lower water lines (maybe?)! Happy Cinco de Mayo!

I’ve been on a colorful lower water liner kick lately, and Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long-Lasting Eyeliner in Orchidée ($32), available now as part of the Chanel Summer 2015 Collection, is currently satisfying that urge to kick.

Wearing Orchidee on my lower lash and water line

Here’s a brief breakdown of this flower’s important points (Orchidée means orchid en français)…

Chanel Summer 2015: Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long-Lasting Eyeliner in Orchidée ($32)

  • Vivid violet cream Orchidée is the only liner in the Chanel Summer 2015 Collection.
  • It’s limited edition, $32 and available now.
  • Typical of Chanel’s Stylo Yeux liners, the formula is a little on the hard side, but the texture still feels very smooth.
  • Wear time is about 6-8 hours on my lash lines and 5-6 on my water lines.
  • To get really high-intensity purple color from it, I use 3-4 layers on my water lines and 1-2 on my lash lines.
  • If you have trouble getting the formula to stick to your water lines, make sure your water lines are thoroughly dry before applying it. I’ll run a Q-tip carefully along my water line (and by “carefully,” I mean, “DON’T POKE YER EYE OUT, KID!”) beforehand. Then after applying I’ll let the formula set for a minute before going in for another layer. Repeat until you get the level of intensity you want.
  • I love Orchidée paired with warm browns and rose golds on the lids like I’m wearing in the pic above. 🙂

P.S. I hope your Cinco de Mayo has gotten off to a good start. Mine’s been pretty good so far. The missing screws for that gigantic pink shelving unit I told you about are supposed to arrive today, yay!

And I’m looking forward to perhaps a lunch of yummy fish tacos. 🙂

P.P.S. In other news, what are your favorite apps on your phone? I haven’t updated mine in a while, and I’d like some new apps. Thank you in advance.

Karen I love adding a pop of colour onto my lower lashes too. I’m pretty much a neutral eye look kinda girl, but started adding a pop of colour back into my look a few weeks ago and love it. As much as I love the liner in this look, the shadow you’re wearing is gorgeous! What it is?
Hope the rest of your day is great!

Thank you, Carolyn! I’m wearing Chanel Stylo Eyeshadow Fresh Effect Eyeshadows in Caroube on my lids and Laurier Rose in the center. I have a full break down of the look here if you want to see it:

Loving the bright color on the lower lash lines! That looks like a nice liner from Chanel.

Apps I really like: WeatherBug (pretty accurate); my Kaiser Permanente app for making appointments and e-mailing my doc; the Kindle app (syncs to my Kindle so I can read where I left off easily); and Amazon music or Amazon Prime.

      Hi Katherine,

It is a pretty one, and thanks for the app recs! I love the Kindle app for the same reason. I’ll have to try WeatherBug and the Amazon Prime apps too.

Hope you’re having a great day so far.

This year Cinco de Mayo coincides with this San Diego tradition that is Taco Tuesday, yay! Will try to get some tacos and Margaritas this evening.

    Karen,

I have been searching for such a gorgeous orchid shade, thank you! A few years back from the 2013 collection, I had gotten a lovely medium shade of ocean blue and fell head over heels with it! I am thrilled to pieces over this color and am ordering it immediately!! Happy Cinco de Mayo! xoxo

I love adding a bright waterline, even if my eyes are already loud 😉 Like I’ll pair Urban Decay Junkie with Sugarpill CandyCrush in my waterline, with the rest of Sugarpill’s Sparkle Baby pastels lol! Sadly, purple in my waterline (and only my waterline!) causes eye boogers that I have to clean up before I finish my makeup/later on in the day. I don’t know what it is about purple pencils and my waterline, no matter the brand. If I pair the purple liner with another one, like in a halo eye-style on my waterline, it doesn’t happen quite as badly. It’s weird. Oh well 😀 You win some, you lose some in makeup. As to apps… The fun ones are on my iPad lol. Nyan Cat: Lost in Space is a mindless fun game, plus Candy Crush & Bubble Witch. There’s also the Logo TV app so I can watch Drag Race. On my iPhone, there’s Shopkicks and I love it. The hype on Instagram is real for Shopkicks, it’s actually legit. Plus Etsy, so I can window shop 😉

I luuuuuvs it! <3 I do this too, very often. I love how a bit of colorful eye liner can make a whole eye look look so much more fun and interesting.

Karen, I love how subtle and pretty this looks on you. I have the Style Waterproof liner in Ardoise. I’ve seen you use it in a couple of looks, but somehow it just doesn’t work on my waterline. I might have to go back and try your Q-tip suggestion and see if it helps 🙂

I really love that look you did here! I’ll try to do something similar tomorrow! I was think of pairing MAC Sable with the Fluidline liner Evil Twin (but I’m not sure Evil Twin will stay on my waterline…)

I don’t have too many apps to share, most are work/productivity related, but I enjoy Wunderlist, because you can share your lists with other people. Works great if the husband pops to the store and you want to make sure he gets the stuff you actually need.

Beautiful look! I looove how you used the purple on the waterline! It added such a fun pop of color. Something I could use lol. It’s been raining and gloomy here all day so I’ve just been chilling. I may hit a gathering a little later though. Or taco Tuesday lol

That purple is divine! Once my allergies settle down I will have to try doing color on the waterline. I second the weatherbug app, and also, I have an app called ‘random lolcat’ that is so much fun! You open it and you get a bunch of I can has cheezburger photos!
