Sometimes it’s hard to tell if Tabs is really enjoying himself…or if he’s just being a cat and doing cat things.
Like on this last Thanksgiving, with my parents and El Hub’s parents and my brother here, we had a pretty full house, and Tabs was always in the mix, walking from person to person for pets and hanging out, but there were times when the convo got loud that he also seemed a little tense..but he still wouldn’t leave the room.
I dunno… It’s just hard to tell sometimes if he really likes something, or if he just can’t leave the room because it’s action, and he can’t help but be where the action is.
Did that make sense? I’m not sure if it made any sense, but I think it might’ve if you have a cat. Sometimes it’s like they can’t not be wherever the action is, ya know? — even if it appears to drive them crazy. Like they can’t help themselves.
I hope Tabs had a nice Thanksgiving this year. I think he did. He did get tons of lurvies from everyone, even though he couldn’t understand why the folks with bad allergies wouldn’t let him sit on their lap, and he devoured his few pieces of roasted turkey.
I think my tabby is grateful for a lot. I know that he loves going for walks on the hill, sitting on my lap while I work, spending quiet time with me, and he loves his custom built Tabby Command Center.
I like to think that he’s grateful to have found humans who lavish him with the attention he so richly deserves.
If he were a different cat, I might not be as sure, but deep in my heart, I just know he’s a people cat. He trusts and loves humans.

Jiji is a very shy cat, he hides out when people come over, so he was hidden during the Thanksgiving festivities. There are a select few people he’ll come out for. Mina, however, played her role as welcoming committee. She was bumping up to and licking everyone (my parents, my grandpa, my brother, and my brother’s wife were all over), she loves people and everyone she meets.
Quincy isn’t exactly a cat, but he came out and got pets from everyone. My dad laid on the floor with him for about 10 minutes petting him 🙂 Quincy loves people, which isn’t exactly typical bunny behavior.
My dog is the same way. He needs to be around people, mainly me, but is so annoyed and tense around noise. It makes me anxious sometimes!
I was glad to see the harness!
Tabs, you can sit on my lap at anytime (Plus, I always have greenies or treats in my pocket or my purse).
Aw! That’s so sweet that Tabs is a social cat. Nora kitty runs and hides whenever there’s someone not part of the family in the house. If she accidentally gets caught in the same room with them she hisses and then runs and hides. I think she’s just very insecure. She takes to the people who leave her be until she decides they’re safe to be around. As long as there’s a small box from Sephora that she can curl into the tightest ball inside of she’s ok.
Nora was no where to be found on T-Day until the first spritz of whipped cream from the Isi cream whipper. She loves a spritz of cream!

I love social cats. My 3 boys are super social, too! They sleep and laze around all day, but the second someone else comes to the house, they jump up and run to them like puppies. They even curve their whiskers toward the person, as if reaching out to them. Works every time, cuz they gets lots of pets and scratches.
