What Are You Wearing on Your Nails?

November 13th, 2011 by Karen 44 Comments

I felt like doing something a little different and festive with my nails this weekend, so I tried a glittery ombre mani using a base of bright Lancôme Mini Les Vernis lacquer in Shade 102 ($15), topped with glittery China Glaze Twinkle Lights ($6).

I only did my tips, so my toes are currently bare and, I might add, resemble monkey feet, LOL! 🙂

How about you? What are you wearing on your nails?

I’ve used silver foil and stamped over it with a black polish making it a snowleopard metallic nail 🙂

I’m wearing Zoya Dove on my nails. It is a soft gray color, and I love how it is a little edgy while still being neutral and professional enough for work.

I’m in the middle of switching from Zoya Marina to OPI Chicago Champagne Toast. It’s too cloudy and depressing outside not to whip out some pink polish!

I”m using “All that Glitters” Piggy Polish on my toes. It’s a lovely peach shade with plenty of sparkle. Looks great in an open toe shoe without standing out too much.

Nothing! Just cut my nails short to get rid of the slightly yellowed part from too frequent nail polish usage.

Your ombre mani is so cute! It looks much more effortless than a classic French. My feet definitely need a little TLC as well…

I’m wearing Dior Vernis in Apparat. It’s like a grown-up alternative to a bright holiday red. 😀

I was wearing the dark purple Nails INC Magnetic polish that I got from Sephora…. but it chips sooo easily that I really need to do another manicure now. I still love the effect… maybe I need a better topcoat. Still might get a couple as Xmas presents. Love love your festive nails!

I’m wearing OPI Designer…De Better!, which if you have any affinity for shiny, metallic nails at all you should absolutely go out and buy as it looks absolutely amazing on the nail (even better than in pictures or the bottle). However this is day 4 of DDB and although it still looks great I am very itchy to change :). So soon my nails will be Dior Merveille.

Oh, you totally are. 🙂 It’s just a few blobs of polish, some dots, and a few little lines. You should try it, Karen! I’d LOVE to see how yours turn out!

(I just published a nail-art tutorial on it today, actually. You’ll see just how simple it is. And it’s okay if they’re not perfect – mine aren’t! – I think it adds more character to each little frog.) 😀

Bare nails and Sinful Colors “Let’s Talk” (makes me sing Coldplay everytime I use it/say it’s name!!), a true metallic purple with China Glaze “Snow Globe” on top. I just couldn’t wait for the holidays to try out Snow Globe. Its irridescent sparkle makes me so happy! I also bought “Twinkle Lights” when I got “Snow Globe” and I am soooo going to try that ombre look that you’re sporting. It’s so freakin’ festive!
