Giorgio Armani Beauty Said, “Forget the Mousetrap. Let’s Build a Better Lip Gloss!” The Giorgio Armani Beauty Flash Lacquers

If I’d realized back then as an undergrad slogging through chemistry classes that science could also be used for things like building a better lip gloss…I probably would’ve paid closer attention in class and said things like, “Cyclohexane chair and boat shapes? I’M ON THAT SH*T!”

Thank you, science, for taking us to the moon, creating super-sized movie popcorn kernels and for providing us with better living through advanced lip gloss chemistry, like the chemistry behind Giorgio Armani Beauty’s new line of Beauty Flash Lacquers ($29 each and available in 36 shades).

The brand new line of lip glosses flaunts scientific-sounding bells and whistles and a stratospherically shiny, smooth formula with characteristics like…

  • An elastic shine formula that fills in lip lines for an extremely smooth surface
  • A polymer weave that continuously reshapes itself while on your lips
  • A low viscosity to keep the gloss surface perfectly smooth

All of this in the pursuit of one lofty goal: to fashion the highest reflection ever achieved in a lip gloss!

Groovy…

Well, it’s shiny — that’s for sure. And dramatic like a microphone drop.

Earlier today I was standing in front of a window, and I could see the color on my lips in the reflection as clearly as if I was standing in front of a mirror.

Boom.

And the formula remains super shiner as long as I don’t go rubbing or pressing my lips together. When I do, the shine quickly dulls down to a slight sheen.

I’ve been testing two of the shades this week, shimmery Pink 526 and creamy red Rouge 400.

Fairly sheer and dainty Pink, a delicate nude with super fine flecks of glitter, suits smokey eyes well, while rich red Rouge 400 is all about the pigment.

A few swipes of Rouge coats my lips in rich red, but the coverage isn’t completely opaque. I can still see my natural lip color just barely peeking through, which I like. I think it’s one of those things that fellow makeup nerds might also appreciate. 🙂

These definitely remind me of Chanel Glossimers. They have a medium-weight consistency, non-sticky texture, a moisturizing, comfy formula that lasts 2-3 hours on my lips through snacks and drinks, and a very mellow vanilla flavor and scent.

If you frequently turn to YSL and Tom Ford counters to replenish your lip gloss stash, I think you just might also like these.

PRICE: $29 each

Jarvis, engage Friday thrusters in 3, 2, 1…

I am so ready for Friday, it’s not even funny. It’s been a looong week.

Just got back from seeing Iron Man 3 with El Hub, and now I wanna go all Tony Stark and build a suit for Tabs… 🙂

Whatcha up to?

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

That red rouge gloss makes me want to dance. Ripped sweatshirt flash dance, fame flash mob dance, or maybe just sing into my remote control dance. I need either that gloss or to cut back on my caffeine.

I agree with Becca, the first picture of you is stunning! The lip color, the eyes, the blush (whatcha wearing??). This lipgloss is really tempting. I don’t know if I ever told you that a few weeeks ago I bought my first high end lipgloss- I bought a Dior Addict and now all I want is high end glosses 🙂

Rouge 400 is a gorgeous shade but I must say that I’m still daydreaming about Daydream. 😉

Did you like IM3? I love that franchise and think RD Jr. is perfect as Tony Stark. 🙂

Pink 526 is so pretty on you, I think I already have something similar. Here’s a bit of trivia for you. Did you know that Jarvis stands for: Just A Rather Verry Intelligent System? I learned that this week. My daughter is just nuts about RDj and she taught me that. 🙂

Love the red one! I love pigmented glosses that have a bit of translucence! What blush are you wearing here? It looks gorgeous on you!

Wow, look at Rouge! Now that’s how I love my lipglosses, pigmented like this! It’s really weird but we only get one shade of the flash lacquer, I think it is Rouge. Super hot on you Karen!

Rouge 400 looks stunning on you! I’ve heard so much about these Flash Lacquer, but I’m not so much a gloss girl so I’m iffy about it!

I love the Rouge 400. I noticed the high shine before I started reading which makes me want it a lot! Pretty pic too! Whatever you do, make Tabs an Iron Cat suit. He would rock that look.
