Dolce & Gabbana’s New Brood of Bold Eyeliners Look Pretty Khol to Me: The Dolce & Gabbana Khol Collection

February 8th, 2012 by Karen 45 Comments

Is it just me, or is it getting khol in here? 🙂

Must be the new 11-piece Dolce & Gabbana Khol Collection for eyes and nails, available now at Saks Fifth Avenue stores and saksfifthavenue.com.

Five brand new eyeliners headline the launch. Promising potent pigments and a soft texture, the five $29 Intense Khol Eye Crayons are designed to handle fancier effects like flicks and wings just as well as they tackle clean lines and smudging.

I’m pretty jazzed about the crayons. 🙂 Peacock, Chocolate and Dahlia look promising (reviews coming soon).

We’re doin’ the Humpty Hump

Yea! It’s hump day, which means the rest of the week is all gravy from here.

Speaking of Tabs, he just got a new side job as an investigative fashion journalist. He starts next week, and he really wants to look the part…

What do you think of this hat? Does it say “I’m a serious kitty journalist” to you?

The Tweed Newsboy Kitty Cap from the CatAtelier Etsy shop

I don’t know if I’m ready to spend $68 on a hat for my cat, but if Tabs promises to pay for them out of his first paycheck…

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

You know I loves me some kohl pencils. 🙂

Speaking of kohl, I’ve been collecting Indian and Middle Eastern kajals. I just got in the mail a Blue Heaven kajal. The case it comes in is so pretty!

I think that hat should be saved for when Tabs gets promoted to Vice President of kitty investigative journalism. A little too expensive for someone (somekitty?) on a newbie salary, though.

WOOOOOWWW.. I can match my eyeliner to my nail polish 🙂 I’ve had my eyes on that Wild Green nail lacquer since I got my first peek at the D&G Spring 2012 a couple of months ago. So glad I’ll finally be able to get my hands on it… or get it on my hands! Hah. D&G make-up is something I always dream of getting but am lightyears away from actually being able to afford.. (I will definitely be splurging on that nail polish, though, I think – unless there’s some high quality dupe out there for less)

It’s a great quad for pale gals who wear cool tones well, especially. You might remember it from holiday, when they released the Ruby version:

I don’t know about Tabs, but my cat would probably scratch my face off if I tried to put a hat on him. I used to try to put hats on my bunny, but his ears get in the way.

They are pretty amazing — so pigmented and smooth!

Tabs is pretty easy going, so I think he’d be cool with wearing a hat for a while. I just hope it fits his head, since it’s pretty big, LOL!

I’m a sucker for green nail polish, purple eye liner, and neutral shadows, so this collection really speaks to me.

I think that cap would be quite fetching on Tabs. Missy agrees.

I will let Tabs know. He quite admires Missy as a fashion icon, you know!

So… when you get your new job (thinking positive here), you’ll have to treat yourself to that green polish! It’s kind of amazing.

Holy POW on the peacock! Those are definitely some intense colors. The whole line appeals to me, especially the polishes. It’s time to accept that I’m old and boring. Can I say “conservative or traditional” instead? 🙂

Btw, I totally laughed at the beatnik kitty turtleneck in the picture. I keep going to back to it and giggling. The hat is super-cute, too. I might have paired that top with a beret instead, though. 🙂

I wore the polishes yesterday for a total of two hours and holy pigment, Batman! If you get one be sure to wear a base coat, because they stain. Which color is your fave, btw?

I love, LOVE that pic of beatnik kitty. 🙂 I think that cat is an Abyssinian? I’m sort of obsessed with it (don’t tell Tabs).

What have you been up to lately? Things here have been same-o, same-o.

Thanks! I definitely will! I really liked peacock and dahlia, but chocolate is beautiful, too. I usually reserve my dark colors for my toenails and it’s getting to be that time. Well, we have a couple of months but it’s sunny today so I’m hopeful. 🙂

Your secret is totally safe with me. I’m crazy about Russian Blues and kitties that have markings like bobcats, but I don’t mention that to my 3 lovelies at home.

I had a surprise trip to Denver last week so it’s been a bit crazy. The boys’ b’day was last Sunday and I finally picked up drinks and snacks for them to bring to school today. The Hubs will be out of town next week for work, so the frenzy continues. 🙂 Do you have any movie plans? Did you watch the premiere of The River this week?
