Don’t Gloss Over Lavender Without Giving Korres Lip Butter Glaze in Crocus a Try

July 27th, 2012 by Karen 21 Comments

I totally get it if you’re kinda freaked out about the idea of purple lip gloss. I was too. I used to think, gaudy much? But then I slipped one on and completely changed my tune.

The right lavender can look très flattering and still “natural with a kick.”

One to consider: Korres Lip Butter Glaze in Crocus ($14), a sheer, creamy lavender with a whisper of shine.

If you haven’t tried the Lip Butter Glazes yet, give ’em a kiss when you can. I think Korres did a really good job on these. They’re total A+ products.

The one I’m wearing tonight, Crocus, starts as a highly pigmented, can’t-miss color, but it slowly wears down to a soft lavender pink.

I like pairing it with smokey eyes or cat liner looks because, while it packs a punch, it doesn’t compete too much with the rest of the look.

If you decide to give Crocus or another lavender gloss a try (and I hope you do), please let me know how it goes.

Now, onward to the weekend! 🙂 I hope you’re doing something fun.

Are you planning to watch any of the Olympics? That’s pretty much my game plan for this weekend — to watch the Olympics, do some furniture hunting, and go on a dinner date with El Hub.

Oh, and there’s got to be some housecleaning squeezed in there somewhere… Bluh.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

This is so cute, Karen! I picked up my first lip butter (& lip butter glaze) a while back, but Jasmine isn’t anywhere near this chic 😉 The lavender undertones in Crocus are just lovely!

Cute, and I like that it’s a “butter”. I don’t like using butter in the kitchen but I’ll put it all over my body (and lips)! 🙂

I like this one! The only remotely purple gloss I own is MAC Butterfly Dream, and it isn’t too purple at all. I like to layer it over MAC Sweetie.

I’ve never tried Korres lip butters because they come in a pot and I loathe dipping my fingers in it, but the lip butter glaze looks interesting!

I love soft lilac glosses. My lip pigment tend to pull glosses toward brown so a bit of purple counters it nicely.

I was up at 5 for the men’c cycling road race. Was excellent – none of the predictions came true and the young Americans rode with grit and grace.

There’s a Revlon Lip Butter in a color similar to this! It’s called Gumdrop and I wear it daily. Nothing to be afriad of 🙂

Ok Karen, I’ve been an avid reader for quite sometime and don’t comment much…i guess i’m a bit shy 😉 But I have to comment on how GREAT, FABULOUS, AND GORGEOUS you are looking lately! Your skin is looking bright and fresh! I know you have been using NARS TM and an Hourglass powder foundation, but could that be it? Are you doing something else? Drinking more water? Different lighting for your shots? New moisturizer?? I MUST KNOW!!!

I LOVE the Korres Lip Butters–haven’t tried the ones in the tube but I love the pots ones. Don’t know if I would try this one though…I’m not exactly partial to such cool pinks/lavenders on my lips

I LOVE lavender and lilac lip glosses! They gives my lips the perfect nude pink tone 🙂 not too pale, and not too pink.. just enough to tone down my natural lip color, but doesn’t makes me look washed out..

Karen, do you apply this directly onto your lips, or did you put a concealer underneath? I’m asking because I noticed that our lips have about the same level of pigment and it’s frustrating picking up a shade that looks completely different on my actual mouth.
