I saw a deer on the hill this morning! He let me get pretty close to him, too.

Yay for wild turkeys! XD My brother and sister-in-law got those all the time when they lived in San Ramon.

Awww lovely. From your entry title I thought it’d be about vampirish makeup. A tad disappointed it isn’t, but hooray for fuzzy deer at daybreak! Have a great day ahead!

Judging by his rack I’d say he’s about 2, maybe 3. He looks small though. Maybe California deer are smaller than Ohio deer…

I’ve seen big ones on the hill before, but they never let me get this close. It was really cool.

Oh wow this is amazing!!! The last wild animal that let me get pretty close was a baby hare in some friends’ backyard. They kinda suspected it lost its mama too early so it didn’t learn the proper safe distance from human, but it was really really cute!

The hubby and I were just in CA walking around Point Lobos and saw a mama deer and 2 other little ones quite close to us. I keep forgetting they you guys have a slightly different deer variety; ours in MI have white tails!

We get tons of deer where I’m from in northern Michigan – this guy’s a beauty! Unfortunately for deers though, today is the start of rifle deer hunting season in Michigan today, so my FB feed is full of pictures of dead deer…

A neighbor raised an orphaned fawn when I was a little girl – I got to pet her, her name was Ginger.
