Sonia Kashuk’s Crown Jewels Set Keeps Rebellious Heads of Hair From Raising Hell

Wearing the new limited edition Sonia Kashuk Crown Jewels Hair Set ($9.99), available now at Target

For morning hair mayhem — those cracks of dawn when your hair is staging a rebellion, and you don’t even have the hair-withal to attempt the faux bob — there’s always Sonia Kashuk’s new $9.99 Crown Jewels Hair Set.

Yes, once again, Sonia ventures into The Land of Hair Accessories to bring us something great.

Truth be told, though, I’m a little confused by this item’s name. I’m not sure why it’s called a set, since it’s just a single black- and gold-beaded elastic headband…and it lacks any visible jewels.

But I digress…

More importantly, I like it! Like Sonia’s Haute Hair Sets last fall, this headband looks tough girl approved. It has an edginess that I like, despite the elegant beading, which keeps it from looking too cutesy.

As for the elastic? Holla! Comfy as can be (and it doesn’t squeeze my brain).

I can see it now with a black dress or top with a simple neckline, and a delicate gold chain necklace and bracelet…

PRICE: $9.99
AVAILABILITY: Available now at Target
MAKEUP AND BEAUTY BLOG RATING: A (neat, but why is it called a set?)

Karen

I like your hair 🙂 Thursday has been going pretty smoothly, done with work, cleaned the house, made dinner, just waiting for hubby to get home.

On Sunday I got a day off and me, hubby and my friends are going to a little Bavarian town called Frankenmuth and going to Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland which is the biggest Christmas store in the world 🙂 Also the shopping outlets are really close so us the girls hope we can talk our men to stop by if we have any time left 🙂 Should be fun!

        What are your plans?

      Hi Preetha,

I’m wearing a few Zoya shades: Aurora (purple), Blaze (magenta) and Logan (green).

I really like her product line. She makes great makeup brushes and eye makeup remover.

Not to get too personal, but how big is your head? Most elastic headbands give me a headache from being too tight on my big head. I have almost given up on elastic bands, but that one is so cute.

Don’t feel bad, Tara. I have a tiny, pea head and have the same problem. Any kind of headband gives me a massive headache. 🙁

That is a cute headband! I love elastic headbands, especially if they have the sticky grippy stuff in them to keep them from sliding off my head. Goody makes some good ones and my all time faves are by Under Armour. I also bought some wide stretchy cotton headbands for yoga and just doing things around the house. I’m overdue for a salon visit myself…on one hand I like how fast my hair grows and that it’s much easier to braid when it’s this long (just past bra band length), on the other hand, it’s also easier to manage when my stylist thins and layers it (but it won’t go back into a braid without mousse and bobby pins.).
