An Everyday Neutral Eye Look Using Classic MAC Colors (Permanent Line)

March 5th, 2014 by Karen 9 Comments

Before heading to the dentist today, which is always one of my favorite things in the entire world to do (that’s actually not true at all), I did a neutral look using some classic MAC colors from the permanent line.

When I posted about this look before, a few people asked for a tutorial, so here goes!

It’s just that — uh…it ran a little long.

Dude, I’m sorry, but I ramble. It’s an ongoing struggle. 🙂

Here are the products mentioned in the video…

  • NARS Pro Prime Smudge Proof Eye Shadow Base
  • MAC Brule Eye Shadow
  • MAC All That Glitters Eye Shadow
  • MAC Saddle Eye Shadow
  • MAC Sable Eye Shadow
  • MAC Shroom Eye Shadow
  • MAC Carbon Eye Shadow
  • MAC Club Eye Shadow
  • MAC Smolder Eye Kohl
  • MAC Extended Play Gigablack Lash

That’s MAC Blush in Cantaloupe on the apples of my cheeks and MAC Iridescent Loose Powder in Golden Bronze on my upper cheekbones.

Oh, and that’s MAC Plushglass in Fulfilled on my lips.

I hope you like it, and thank you for watching (and for putting up with my rambling!).

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

P.S. So earlier at the dentist, I actually did cry. It was supposed to just be a cleaning, but the hygienist said she needed the dentist to look at something in my mouth, and when he came in, he started sharpening his dental tools in front of me!

I was like, uh…no, we’re not going to do this right now.

I guess I just freaked out a little. Anywho, now I have to go back at some point to finish my cleaning.

Have you ever freaked out like that in the dentist’s office?

Oh poor Karen! I feel bad that you get so freaked out at the dentist! I would probably never go if I reacted that way! I don’t mind going to the dentist, I’ve never had a really bad experience, even though I have had quite a few cleanings and fillings from different dentists (I have moved around quite a bit) and even a crown! Some dentists I’ve like better than others but I’ve never cried or had to leave early! Poor girl! Anyways, I love that MAC eye look, though I certainly don’t need any more MAC stuff! Have you tried the new Mineralize lipsticks? Are you going to review them? I’m not really impressed with how the glosses look so far from other blogs, but was wondering what your take on the lipsticks are!

I do know exactly how you feel. I actually fill a small prescription for anxiety Meds before my visit. As soon as I get in, because even though I make it in early, there is still the sitting in the car, gathering courage. They gas me. I swear by it. If there are children who are anxious about the dentist chair. For goodness sake gas them and don’t hold them down. Sorry so heavy. Lovely make up by the way. Lol.

I’ve never freaked out in the dentist but other then my one filling in my whole 35 years, I haven’t needed to do so. I can’t even get numb with novacaine and gas has almost no effect, so I just woman’d up and took it.

The nars eyeshadow base has so much hype I think I’m going to cave! All those shadows look great together!

Oh, Karen, I understand! I actually can’t even go to the dentist unless I’m in such extreme, disabling pain that the prospect of terror is less horrible because even just the sound of the machine that they use for cleaning as well as drilling sets off extreme panic. Too many fillings as a child by too many dentists who didn’t use enough Novocaine. It’s a real problem, even though now-a-days there are dentists that go out of their way to cater to people with dental phobias.

Good grief! Who sharpens their dental tools in front of the patient?! Were they *trying* to be the imaginary ‘evil dentist torturer?’ :-O
    Awesome video as always, Karen!
