Hello, Frat Boy Blush by theBalm

Whenever I like something a lot, I give it a nickname (El Hub, T-Money, RyGos — you know what I do).

So, I have a nickname for this blush by theBalm…

I call it Frat Boy Slim.

Get it? Frat Boy Slim? 🙂

Yeah, OK, I really need to get that “too easily amused” issue taken care of one of these days.

I adore this warm peachy pink matte powder blush to pieces. It blends out perfectly, and it lends that healthy, just-pinched look to my cheeks.

Think NARS Orgasm, but without the golden shimmer.

Oh, and bonus! — on the inside of the pan, it has the phrase, “Beaucoup d’hommes mais si peu de temps…” which I believe means something like, “So many men, so little time…”

Now, why didn’t they teach us cheeky phrases like that in high school French?!

Frat Boy ($21) is available now at theBalm counters and online.

I dug this out recently and love it so much! No idea why I wasn’t using it before!

TheBalm packaging is either something you love or hate I think, and I unfortunately don’t like it. I like the color of this blush though. Good that there’s no golden shimmer in it.

Thanks for the swatches but how come no shots of you wearing them?

I have always wanted to try a blush from theBalm! I already own so many peach/coral pinks that I think I’m gonna go for Cabana Boy. A little plummier, perfect for fall and winter I think! Oh, and I adooore the packaging- all the little vintage vignettes are so cute!

This looks like the perfect everyday blush! I have the blush from The Balm that looks the most like Orgasm and I love it to death!

I bet this looks so good on you! It’s a very pretty everyday color. I just don’t know how I feel about the packaging. It’s kind of cute but not for a $21 blush. If that makes any sense lol

      Hi Gio,

Yes, I think it just might be one of those truly universally flattering colors. The matte finish is lovely!

Love the “cheeky” French text, too. Very punny, Karen. 🙂

Bonjour! Just wanted to let you know you made a little boo-boo in your post – you wrote that the phrase on the blush pan is “Beaucoup de’hommes mais si peau de temps…”, when it’s actually “Beaucoup d’hommes mais si peu de temps”. What you wrote means something along the lines of “So many men but so skin of time”. 🙂 (Also, the “d’hommes” vs. “de’hommes” thing – it’s basically like how we write “an egg” instead of “a egg”.)

Minor quibbles aside – always glad to see another post from you! You’re my favourite beauty blogger. 🙂

Haha! Just fixed it. Thanks, Marie. Apparently I should’ve been paying closer attention in high school French!

I ordered my first The Balm blush from Hautelook recently and am still waiting to get it! I’ve been wanting to try their blushes forever. I think I got Mama’s Boy. Damn Hautelook shipping takes forever I don’t even remember what I ordered!

Pretty shade and as always adorable packaging! I just picked up How Bout Them Apples on Hautelook so I’m set with theBalm blush for a while, but it is super cute

“Think NARS Orgasm without the golden shimmer.” Yep, this seems like it’s right up my alley!

Is it sad that I almost shrieked when I saw you’d posted about this blush? It was like seeing an old friend on TV! This blush is delightfully peachy and so smooth; it was pretty much love at first swoosh/swipe for me. It’s always nice to see an old favorite make your review rounds!
