Step Right Up to the bareMinerals Kissing Booth 6-Piece Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss Collection: A Carnival of Glassy, Sheer Color

Thanks, bareMinerals, for inspiring my latest list with your new $26 Kissing Booth Lipgloss Collection.

I’m calling it “Carnival Attractions That I Absolutely Never Want to Operate.”

bareMinerals Kissing Booth
bareMinerals Kissing Booth, $26

At the top of the list, the kissing booth, which, yeah, probably isn’t a good fit for the girl who freaked-the-eff-out when she found out that her (now ex) boyfriend was using her toothbrush (EWWWWWWW!).

Can you imagine the germs exchanged during one afternoon at a kissing booth? Um…no thank you.

Carnival Attractions That I Absolutely Never Want to Operate

  • The kissing booth — Yuck! I don’t know where those lips have been!
  • The Ferris wheel — People freaking out in buckets a hundred feet off the ground? I can’t… I just can’t.
  • The milk bottle baseball game — Oh, hell to the no. How much do you want to bet someone would hit me with a ball?
  • The carousel/merry-go-round — Make it stop! The music is driving me nuts…

Now, if I could insist that there were only two customers at my kissing booth, El Hub and Tabs (who would get nose kisses, of course), then cool. 🙂 And I’d also want these Kissing Booth Collection glosses around, because their sheer pigments wouldn’t leave bright smooch marks behind.

These non-sticky glosses look like they should be bright and intense on lips, but they’re not. They’re pretty sheer sheer on mine — much sheerer than the glosses in the Lipspectacular holiday set.

All six Kissing Booth shades start out just shy of moderately pigmented and fade over the course of about 10 minutes until I can see most of my natural lip color through them.

Even the three glitters are subdued, and after applying them, I can can really only seem them briefly when I’m in full sunlight.

I like my glosses with a splash o’ flash, so if I had to choose between this set and Lipspectacular…I’d think I’d go with the latter, which comes with six moderately pigmented creamy nudes.

But if you prefer semi-transparent glosses with a faint trace of color, don’t miss the Kissing Booth.

The bareMinerals Kissing Booth set includes…

  • Mini Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss in Big Tease, a pinkish nude
  • Mini Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss in Lucky Lady, a diamond rose
  • Mini Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss in Sweet Kisser, a strawberry sorbet
  • Mini Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss in Major Flirt, a sparkling peony
  • Mini Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss in Thrill Seeker, a rich lilac
  • Mini Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss in Jezebel, a glimmering fuchsia merlot

Size: 2.25 ml/0.07 fl. oz. each

PRICE: $26
AVAILABILITY: Available now online and at Sephora and bareMinerals boutiques

Pretty but they do look kinda sheer. But I really like how Bare Minerals glosses feel on the lips.

      Hi Agata,

I don’t mind sheer if I’m prepared for it mentally, LOL! I really wanted these to be more intense because they look so bold in the tubes, ya know?

I do know what you mean! I bet they will look pretty layered over a lipstick though.

        How is your Tuesday going?

It’s been pretty good. Cold, but good! It’s finally getting to that part of the season when we no longer get balmy fall days. It’s officially full-on cold!

I’m getting ready to do a nice long run in a bit. How’s your foot, by the way? Have you recovered yet?

Unfortunately, not. I feel like it’s slightly better but now with the wedding craziness being over, I will finally have time to see a foot specialist.

I wish these weren’t so sheer, too. Usually, sets like this don’t appeal to me when they’re not super pigmented & opaque. Nice gift idea for the gal who likes less pigmented. My bestie might like these…

I don’t know what I would do with so many subtle and fairly similar glosses to be honest, but it does look like a pretty set. It would make a nice gift.

I don´t get those sheer glosses, if I just want some sheen, I´d go for a lip balm.
But there seem to be people out there who like it this way. I spend one hour in Sephora, helping my sister to pick out a lipgloss that looked as if she wasn’t wearing anything…
Still didn’t get it, but she was super happy and that is all that counts.

Yeah… kissing booths have always struck me as the grossest things ever. And I also prefer my glosses to pack a bit more punch, so I think I’ll pass on these.

Wow – fading color after 10 minutes doesn’t seem good! Not quite as bad as manning a kissing booth, but close. HAHA! The husband of one of my friends is a total germaphobe and whenever I come out of their bathroom I ask him “do you think today is the day I put your toothbrush in my mouth?”. Of course I wouldn’t do that but I’m positive he throws it out, just in case, every time. 🙂

I like how those glosses feel on the lip… but yes, i don’t get it why they are so sheer. So the buttercream version that you reviewed last week was better? I didn’t see the grade there.

Oh gawwd, toothbrushes… one time I found out that my boyfriend’s dad had been using my toothbrush for pretty much the entire time I had it there; so, MONTHS. I try not to think about it. Literally the only consolation is that, well, I’m still alive, right? (*shudder*)

When my mom was in college, my grandpa signed her up for a summer as a carnie. I think it was the worst couple months of her entire life. She worked concessions, and when she finally got home my uncle caught her “making kettle corn” in her sleep. The worst/best story is perhaps this: on her birthday, they were finally in a town with hot showers, albeit communal ones, and she was so excited… but then the circus fat lady came in, and she literally had to scrub the fat lady’s back. On her birthday.

So anyways… pretty glosses!! Though I agree, I just prefer more opaque ones, and frankly have come to expect it from any high end gloss that I splurge on. I can get awesome shimmery ones for a few dollars, but it’s the color drenched glosses that are gold.
