Just Like a Single Strand of Pearls, the New MAC Cremesheen Pearl Lipsticks and Cremesheen Glasses Should Stand the Test of Time

MAC Cremesheen Pearl Lipstick in Pickled Plum, part of the new Cremesheen Pearl collection available now online and coming July 23 to MAC counters and stores

Why is it that I know I’d be utterly destroyed — as in completely heartbroken and shattered into a zillion tiny pieces — if my favorite strand of pearls were ever to be crushed, but I’m thrilled by the idea of there being actual crushed pearls in my MAC Cremesheen Lipsticks and Cremesheen Glasses?

I guess it’s just one of life’s many mysteries. I guess.

Of course, there aren’t actual crushed pearls in the MAC Cremesheen Lipsticks and Cremesheen Glasses that launched online today with the MAC Cremesheen Pearl collection (also coming to MAC stores and counters July 23).

I just like to pretend. 🙂

Naaaw, girl! The new collection of 10 lipsticks and five glosses, all in shades of pink, coral and red with Asian-inspired names, only appears to have been sprinkled with tiny bits o’ pearl so that your lips look lusciously lacquered and luminous like a strand of pearls, and the effect is — ooh-la-la! — so classy.

For the collection, MAC put a pearlescent twist on their familiar Cremesheen Lipstick and Cremesheen Glass formulas. With these shades, “pearlized pigments” give the classically creamy, luscious Cremesheen finish a subtle, shimmery glow.

Subtle is the key word, too. This ain’t no drag queen disco diva glitter (although that definitely has its time and place). These Cremesheens have more of an effervescent glow.

I’ve been wearing four of the 10 pearl-powered Cremesheen Lipsticks from the collection this week — Dozen Carnations, Nippon, Obi Orange and Pickled Plum — and the more intense colors like Pickled Plum and Obi Orange, leave behind a cool stain on my lips as they fade over the course of 3-4 hours.

Also, here are swatches of the other six MAC Cremesheen Lipsticks if you’re so inclined.

The stain even has little bits of micro-glitter for an unexpectedly elegant twist.

If you’re worried about not being able to get your paws on these before they disappear, not to worry. They aren’t going anywhere. All 15 new Cremesheen lipsticks and glosses in the MAC Cremesheen Pearl collection are being added to the permanent line.

The 10 Cremesheen Pearl Lipsticks ($16.50 each) include creamy mid-tone coral pink Nippon, pale peachy nude Koi Coral, bright carnation pink Star Magnolia, bright peachy pink Little Buddha, bright blue-pink Pickled Plum, bright yellow-orange Tokyo Tizzy, reddish orange Obi Orange, pinkish coral Pretty Boy, warm tomato red Dozen Carnations and Sweet Sakura, a true red with golden pearl.

And for even MOAR shine, the five new Cremesheen Pearl Glasses ($20 each) include cool pink Pagoda, light nude Double Happiness, peach coral Richer Lusher and creamy golden pearly yellowish pink Partial to Pink.

Of course, all of them also have MAC’s signature vanilla flavor and scent.

Now, I must bid you farewell so that I can start planning a trip to Tokyo, because you just know that I had to add this to my bucket list: “Must wear Tokyo Tizzy Lipstick to Tokyo!” 🙂

Someday… Someday!

    I love these lipsticks!

    Like, really, really love them.

Maybe it’s because I don’t love mattes that the idea of lipstick with a pearl sheen is calling my name. And after the last MAC frenzy, I love that these are all permanent.

I got a bit of vertigo looking down that staircase!!

I’m gonna have to put these on the list that’s getting to be a mile-long for makeup shopping with Dear Daughter!

I kinda like Nippon but I keep thinking of it as Nipper!

I’ve never tried Cremesheen. The colors are very pretty, though.

True story: I’m moving to Tokyo. I should get Tokyo Tizzy and totally tell everyone about it once I’m there. And look like a scrub.

Are the Cremesheen Glasses not repromotes? I feel like I’ve already seen them.

I just ordered Little Buddha last night (mostly for that amazing name, but the color is great too!), but I might just need Pickled Plum after seeing this post <3 Thank goodness they're permanent!

Gigi is so pretty! I’m sad, we’re moving to a different place in town next month and I won’t have my neighbor kitty friends any more. My neighbor at the new place has a little pug though.

Aw, pretty girl! It looked like she was a bit short in the tail dept but I think it’s just the camera angles. 🙂

I like the pearlized finish of these lippies. How can you go wrong with subtle sparkle?

She kept moving around which made it hard to get her tail. It’s full and luscious! I’m going down there again in the afternoon to see if she wants to play. I’ll give her a cheek rub for ya!

You are definitely a “cat lady” if all the kitties in the neighborhood come out to say hello when you’re out for a walk. Hope you have a happy Caturday and a good weekend.

These look so great on you! I only own one MAC lipstick (shocking, I know!) but I’ll definitely have to swatch these out. Pickled Plum and Obi Orange are calling out to me, don’t know how long I’ll be able to resist!

My teen daughter and I have just discovered MAC. We always visit the counter at Myer (Australia) and try on the gorgeous colours. I want this whole collection. We are going to LA later this year…we can’t wait to buy MAC at US prices. It’s too $$$ here!

Pickled Plum is awesome! Hey, that rhymes as well. I can’t decide what I loved more, the lipsticks or they way you’ve taken the pictures with the pearls in the background…both fabulous 🙂

I love how you staged you lipstick with the pearls! Can I use one of your photos for a social media post? I would like to use the MAC Cremesheen Pearl Lipstick in Pickled Plum photo.
