So…what is the Monday Poll?
Excellent question! It isn’t, contrary to its name, an actual poll, like with little clicky buttons. It’s just a list of more or less random questions I’ve been posting on this blog every Monday morning for the past quadrillion years (since 2007).

I have the same three every year: El Hub, Connor and Rosie-Pose.

I love both, but today I’m feeling pink.

Ya know, I used to be a hater, but after my brief stint working in the bakery, now I’m a fan.
5. A song you heard recently?
“Playin’ with the queen of hearts…”
6. Retinol?
Yup. I like the ones by Neutrogena and Avene.
7. Red or pink nail polish?
Flamingo pink!
8. Red or pink eyeshadow?
Red can look editorial and dramatic, but I haven’t been into that sort of makeup lately, so I’ll go with a soft wash of satiny pink.

1. Who’s your Valentine? Since Valentine now includes family, friends, and even our fur babies, I’ll say my Valentines are all those I hold near and dear—with fur and without 😁
2. Chocolate or flowers? Definitely, chocolate. I have flowers year round, but chocolate is for those special times when I want a treat.

4. Clogs: yes or no? No
5. A song you heard recently? I’m drawing a blank. If I have to think hard about it, that means I haven’t heard anything recently that impressed me much.
6. Retinol? Yes. I’ve used retinoids for decades and it has slowed the breakdown of collagen. For a geezer, my skin’s in pretty good shape.

7. Just painted my nails a fuchsia color! It’s the nail polish line from the Dollar General. This stuff slaps. 💅
8. I finally figured out how to pull off pink shadow! So I’ll go with pink.
9. I have very lukewarm feelings about Valentine’s Day. I try to make it fun for my kids.

Hubs. My Mom also sends me cute cards every Valentine’s Day, which she’s done since I was a kid. And I got a card from my Aunt and Uncle today. So we’ll just generalize and throw in the whole fam lol!

Ummm….flowers. Chocolate is an everyday thing, haha!

Pink. Fuschia/blue-leaning.

Sure. They can be adorable with a 70s boho vibe or if there’s a Scandinavian style thing going on.

A very impressive postlude by Ravel. If we’re talking live. On the radio…hmm. A funny rap song by a new artist, no names displayed on the readout, so I have no idea who it was! One of the last radio songs I remember was channel surfing and hearing “Urgent” by Foreigner. Lol, that’s a good one. So urgent, it’s an emergency.

Meh. My hubs is the first to admit he’s horrible at Valentine’s Day, lol! He either overdoes it or underdoes it, then we end up laughing hysterically about how he either forgot or is still making cute attempts to impress me for 20 years running. I’ve tried taking the reins here but am much better at a frothy Valentine’s party with the girls, which I haven’t had an opportunity to do in a crow’s age.

6. Retinol? Yes! I love retinol but I’m pregnant so have had to stop for now 😐 Also can’t use my salicylic acid, my skin is going to go nuts.

9. Valentine’s Day: love it or leave it? Leave it – I always tell my husband to buy flowers the day after, because they’re cheaper!

6. Retinol? Too harsh with my rosacea, I use a great serum by Me Time Botanicals with Mothbean which is a great substitute and the Glowgetter serum gives moisture AND clears breakouts – a win win.

8. Red or pink eyeshadow? Pink – if I wore red I’d look like one of my really bad morning afters during University.
