What’s Write about Clarins Instant Sun Light Click & Gloss?

Clarins Instant Sun Light Click & Gloss SPF 6
Steno stores are so much fun, aren’t they? I can spend hours shopping for themed notebooks, mechanical pencils, art pen sets, fancy letterhead, scented erasers and Hello Kitty pencil sharpeners…

Maybe that’s why I’m a sucker for makeup in pen form. When I hear those words, “makeup in pen form,” something comes over me (no, it’s not Justin Bieber Fever!).

Have you given the new Clarins Instant Sun Light Click & Gloss SPF 6 lipglosses a try? Part of the Instant Sun Light Summer Make-Up Collection, they’re $18 each — an exorbitant price for steno, yes, but not totally out of line for a gloss. 🙂

They come with a cool click pen brush applicator in three sheer, shimmery shades.

I haven’t been able to keep my thumb from clicking Vanilla, the light beige with pale golden glitter. It’s been my pen o’ choice for brainstorming, LOL! The medium weight texture doesn’t stick, isn’t gritty at all and feels smooth on my lips. Clarins was also kind enough to throw in a dash of sun protection — SPF 6 — which isn’t a lot, but I bet it helps.

As for how I think they make my lips look: KISSABLE! Too bad they don’t last but a minute, though — well, 60 of them or thereabouts. I get about an hour of color from Click & Gloss before I have to reapply.

And they could stand to be much more hydrating than they are. After a day wearing ’em my lips feel a little on the dry side… I wonder if that’s because of the yummy sparkling cream soda flavor and scent, which has inevitably led me to lick my lips, a lot.

I give big props to Clarins for making such a tasty, super pretty natural sheer gloss that contains SPF (my stomach rumbles just thinking about it!), but $18 seems like a lot to pay for something that barely lasts an hour. Makeup and Beauty Blog Rating: B

I know… at least another hour an half would help to justify the price!

Oh my goodness! Wear time aside, that packaging is lovely. Click-pen form, a great smell, and a shiny tube?

For my summer road trips, I got a Michael Kors perfume rollerball that came w/ a lipgloss from Sephora. That one is very similiar to this gloss…but is probly stickier. 🙂

That one looks ooks lovely, I wish it had more staying power.

Shouldn’t that be what’s “right about Clarins?” as opposed to write?

I have always liked the click pen glosses, especially the Stila ones. Too bad this gloss only lasts about an hour.

I love the shimmer and mid gloss shine, but I completely agree on the price per use. Thanks for the update!
