The New Dolce & Gabbana Lip Jewels Compact Has Ruby Kisses for You

Do you remember the Dolce & Gabbana Lip Jewels Compact ($60) from backstage at Milan Fashion Week? The one with the big ruby on the top? Well, it’s finally here! And lemme tell ya — put on yer stunner shades, because Dolce & Gabbana blinged this mutha out!

The compact’s limited edition for the holidays and holds four Classic Cream Lipsticks from Dolce & Gabbana’s permanent line, three reds — Dahlia (blueish), Ultra (warmish) and Devil (a true red) — and one neutral called Nude (a creamy beige). All of them apply smooth and creamy with full-coverage color.

I’ve been picturing myself wearing the red shades with black cat eyes… HOTNESS! Of course, when I was trying these on yesterday it was after midnight, and I’d already taken off the rest of my makeup. I’ll do almost anything in the name of makeup research, but I won’t share face shots of myself with ratty hair and pajamas. Well… least not this time, ha!

It’s almost like costume jewelry since it costs about as much ($60!!!), but just look at that pretty compact (also comes with two lip brushes)… Poor thing needs a good home. 🙂

PRICE: $60
AVAILABILITY: Select Saks Fifth Avenue stores and online
MAKEUP AND BEAUTY BLOG RATING: B+

could we get a clearer, less ‘artsy’ shot? LOVE the shots, but I’m interested in seeing the actual product as a whole!

Pretty!! I’m glad to see that it’s so pigmented and not just gloss. I actually own two of the colors already, otherwise I would be tempted. I’m a sucker for pretty packaging.

That really is stunning packaging and the colors look great. Dahlia would be my choice if I could ever be persuaded to wear red lipstick, which I couldn’t. 🙂

I just got this from Saks Houston. This is the most beautiful lip compact ever, period. I love Devil with a topping of Charm gloss. Wow! In fact, the D&G whole cosmetics line is gorgeous. The colors often shout bright, and you may feel timid about trying them, but have no fear: They are lovely and sexy. I implore you to try them. The Evocative eye duo from the fall collection and the Desire eye duo from Holiday, paired with new Rosebud blush (also holiday) and these Devil lips–well, you will be so overwhelmed you may fall in love all over again with makeup. Finest quality, breathtakingly beautiful colors, go for it girls!
