Saturday Surfing and $10 Holiday Makeup from Target

G’morning, boo! Happy Saturday. Did you do anything fun last night? The highlights of my evening involved a leisurely trip through Target and then three hours of zombie-fueled television on the couch (AMC replayed The Walking Dead premiere and 28 Days Later)… My life’s a non-stop thrill ride, I know.

I spotted those new Dr. Scholl’s Fast Flats at Target, the ones El Hub says look like ninja shoes. They’re emergency flats you can keep in your purse, the car or the little wristlet that comes with them and then put them on when your high heels are bugging you. Genius, right?

They come in three size ranges, women’s 5-6, 7-8 and 9-10. I snagged the last size 7-8, woo hoo! Haven’t tried ’em on yet, but I’ll let you know when I do.

Target also had out a ton of new holiday makeup. It’s like the whole store turned Christmas overnight! I saw new kits from JK Jemma Kidd, Pixi, NP Set and Sonia Kashuk.

Get this — they’re all just $9.99. 🙂

I only saw one new brush set from Sonia, which kind of surprised me, but I bet we’ll see her usual mix of holiday palettes and whatnot soon (I HOPE!).

WARNING: Improv iPhone Pics

I’m crushing on the JK Jemma Kidd stuff… What about you?

Before you go about your day, I waxed our boards. 🙂 Let’s catch a few waves.

Saturday Surfing: Sites I Surfed Today

  • Dear Santa, I’ve been a very good girl this year, so you should reward me with one of these 10 gorgeous holiday gift palettes.
  • While you’re at it, S. Claus, please add this bottle of Chanel Le Vernis Riva to my list. To clarify, I was a VERY GOOD GIRL this year.
  • Here’s someone who really plaid with their manicure, ha!
  • Gooey caramel, melt-in-your-mouth chocolate, buttery shortbread — drooling over these homemade Twix bars starts in 3-2-1…
  • The budget-slaying $98 Laura Mercier Color Wardrobe Holiday Palette.
  • These three new Dior nail polishes paint a portrait of Dior-ian gray. Sorry, I can’t resist a bad pun…
  • Update your fall wardrobe with trendy lace.
  • If your summertime tan is fading, you can still fake that glow with these bronzer and blush duos.
  • Would you ever shave your ‘pits with this shaving oil made for dudes?

AMAZING: This father/son team filmed the launch of their homemade spacecraft with an HD camera and an iPhone

Have an interstellar Saturday!

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

I don’t own any Jemma Kidd makeup but I’ve heard loads of good things about it. Ahhhh, $9.99 is such a good price. I hope some is still around when I finish my current Project 5 Pan.

Oh dear….wish I am in the US now…yet happy that I am not, well, my pocket, at least. 😉

The Pixi No.1 palette looks so pretty, bright colors.

I think all these sets at Target are really good deal, and it’s a great way to try out new brands!

      Hi Vonvon,

That Pixi palette certainly is eye catching. Are you a brights kinda girl?

Yes, Karen! I am kinda both. I am fine with quick neutral looks, esp when in a rush. But when I have the time to spare, I would like to play with brights and go out spotting them! 😀

Have you tried any of the Jemma Kidd products? I see them in Target all the time, but i’m not sure how well they work.. I am in love with Sonia Kashuk brushes! They work wonders and are so much cheaper than MAC ones!

Must not buy these shadows. I just got gifted a bunch of Stila shadows from my mom because they all of a sudden made her itch, but I don’t. Odd. But the shades from Pixi no. 2 are pretty much the same as my new Stila. Sigh, another reason to avoid going to Target alone…

    Hey Karen!

You’re right, Sonia Kashuk has rolled out more goodies for Holiday 2010 that must not be at your Target yet. I swiped up the Glitters Glows eye palette (similar to last years eye palette–I LOVE the blinged out case) a holiday nail trio and a face palette called Facing Stardom….all are available currently at Target.com (supposedly in stores as of Nov. 1st)

    Here is the link: http://www.target.com/b/ref=pd_sim_cat_1_1?ie=UTF8&node=2230517011

I am still eyeing up her Dripping in Diamonds brush set…soo pretty. I am really happy with the things I have snagged so far. Love SK!

Those fast flats were made for me. I am notorious amongst my friends for wearing sky high heels when we go out for drinks and then complaining on the long walk back to the car lol my boy should buy me these so he doesn’t have to piggy back me to the car most weekends HaHa

I really do not need anymore brushes. But I cant pass up those Sonia Kashuk brushes. I’ve never tried them, and at the price I might need to.

I keep saying I need to get to Target and yet, I never seem to get there! 🙂 I’m really only interested in some SK brushes, though. And I know this isn’t very nice but, that Pixi logo made me say “what the heck *is* that thing? Oh, it’s a pixie. But it’s awful”.

Thanks for linking my oil post! Seriously, I never would have thought about it if it hadn’t been right there to try. Looking around I have found more oils for ladies, but they are scented, which apparently we love everything we use to be scented, right? LOL! 🙂
