These $7 Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balms Are The Bee’s Knees

February 25th, 2011 by Karen 64 Comments

Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Pink Blossom on lips

Burt sure keeps his bees busy! Their latest creation, a concoction of 100% natural ingredients, gives a soothing sheer tint to lips.

Available in six sheer shades ranging from pink to red to neutral, these Tinted Lip Balms ($7 each) moisturize and nourish lips with soft flower waxes, shea butter and added vitamin E.

What the Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balms DON’T contain: phthalates, parabens and sodium lauryl sulfate

The ones I’ve been wearing lately are peachy Tiger Lily and Pink Blossom. Both feel smooth, light and non-sticky on my lips, and I dig their light, sweet raspberry flavor and scent.

Like all of Burt’s products, the Tinted Lip Balms proudly display (well, they could) the official Tabs Stamp of Approval, since they’re cruelty-free and were developed without being tested on animals.

PRICE: $7 each
AVAILABILITY: At drugstores, grocery stores and also online
MAKEUP AND BEAUTY BLOG RATING: A+

Ah this looks cute 🙂 I shall hunt for them the next time I’m near a Boot’s Pharmacy.

TGIF Karen and have a wonderful weekend. Tell Tabs I said hi and hope he’s not too busy. Kitty Models need rest too!

I’ll pass along the message. 😉 I think he has a few shoots this weekend (a kitty model’s job is never done!), but I’ll make sure he gets some downtime in.

I actually like these more. They seem more pigmented and moisturizing.

The cool cardboard packaging suckered me into buying Pink Blossom. Man, they’re expensive! The color shows up nicely on my lips. It doesn’t last long, though. 🙁
It reminds me of the Love’s SoftKiss tinted lip balm I used to have forever ago. Except that it was a little more pink than fuschia and was more pigmented.

Yeah… I think limited wear time is a given for most balms like this. At least they’re sheer enough so you don’t have to apply them with a mirror…

The kiddos are off to see the grandparents this weekend so Hubs and I are looking forward to a nice, quiet weekend. I’m hoping it involves sipping ritas on the patio with some fresh shrimp and pineapple on the BBQ. 😀 How about you? Any big plans?

I have to do a LOT of un-fun stuff that needs to get done: taxes, cleaning and working out. Blah!
