August 13th, 2011 by Karen 12 Comments

A flower from my echinacea plant. 🙂

How are you with plants? Do you have a green thumb?

Beautiful! I have the opposite of a green thumb. I killed a cactus. You have to pretty much TRY to kill a cactus, but I managed to do it on accident.

I like to think that I have a green thumb, and let me tell you — cactus are actually pretty easy to kill. I’ve done it more than once. Eek!

Oooh, echinacea! I wish I had inherited a green thumb from my parents, but I’m terrible with plants. I always forget to water them. It’s probably a good thing I dislike children because I can’t even keep plants alive!

So pretty! I’ve been fairly successful with taking care of my bamboo plants but they aren’t really high maintenance. But I realized that I could never get another bonsai tree XD They are so cute but they require so much more care than apparently a college student can handle XP

      Hi Aradhana,

Yes it is! I bought it specifically for that reason. 🙂

      Do you have a kitty?

Pretty flower! I recently bought some tulip bulbs during my trip to Amsterdam. Hope I get to see them in bloom 🙂

My daughter has, but not me! She planted some tomatoes and oregano in spring with the help of her teachers at her nursery and now the tomatoes are starting to bear tiny fruits and oregano…..ohhh, nothing beats fresh oregano for cooking! So yummy and fragrant!

the houseplant i do best with is purple passion, which is weird considering theyre not really an “easy” plant, yet i cant keep a spider plant or ive plant alive for nothin. outside in the yard ive got about a donzen rose bushes, 2 clumps of clematis (one is a mix) and 4 rose of sharons. i just brought home 2 big butterfly bushes but realized i have to find spaces to put them, eek! good thing i dont work with animals, id be bringing those home every other week instead of plants!
