- Sephora’s Beauty & the Blog gives a sneak peek of Coralista, the newest boxed blush from Benefit. Purty!
During Tough Times, Women Turn to Lipstick
- The Lipstick Index, the financial barometer that says makeup sales rise directly in relation to free-falling finances, has increased 40% in the past few months. If you can’t decide on a color for fall, The New York Times kindly provides a list of 41 lipstick shades for the season.
Chanel Appoints a New Art Director
- Chanel recently appointed Ezra Petronia, editor-in-chief of Self Service Magazine (get your mind out of the gutter, dirty birdy), as the new art director for its makeup and watch businesses. Petronia’s previous beauty campaign credits include Prada and Chloe. I’ve always liked the cleanliness and simplicity of Chanel’s beauty ads, so I wonder if he’s going to take it in a new direction.
Hello, Kitty
- Are you as excited as I am about the upcoming launch of Hello Kitty for MAC Cosmetics in February? Specktra Beauty News has the dish on this very highly anticipated collection!
Twilight Riot in SF
- Holy crap! All hell broke loose at the fan meet-and-greet in San Francisco yesterday with Twilight actor Robert Pattison. A few fans got trampled and a girl reportedly broke her nose.
The Hills Quiz… I Totes Failed
- Apparently I need to pay closer attention when I’m watching The Hills. I took Bella Sugar’s The Hills Quiz and failed miserably! I think witnessing Spencer and Heidi’s ridiculousness for the billionth time sent me into a vegetative state. Yah, that’s it. 🙂
Even More Paris
- If you can’t get enough of Paris, check out Dino-Ray’s coverage for the SF Examiner.

Hello to Karen and Tabs,
Lots of new things to see and buy!!! I am wondering if the new Chanel person will consider featuring a little more seasoned ladies for their advertisements. How they love to rob the cradle. And all of you young ‘uns, you will be here someday!!! LOL
You had asked me how I liked some of the new fragrances that have come out. I have not encountered very many of them. I am a No. 5 girl but also love Ormonde Jayne for the originality of fragrances. My favorite is Woman but there is not a dud in the bunch. Even at my advanced age, I bought two scents from BPAL-Snake Oil and Lust. But neither one has achieved any results in my love life. Here is a new one that I smelled at Sephora and it is a little different. It is called Wood (and as you said, keep your minds out of the gutter-hahahahah) by DSquared. It comes in a male and female version. Soft, powdery, and musky. And as far as that Paris goes……without her money, she vuld be nozing!!!! You, my dear, are the true beauty. Pretty inside makes you pretty outside. Have a fab day!!! Louise

Hi Louise Gray,
You always make me smile!
That DSquared perfume sounds fab. I am looking forward to testing a few in the next couple o’ days.
Have a happy Tuesday and a great day at work. 🙂

I love Benefit, if not for their packaging alone!
I’m a BIG fan of Dallas and this reminds me of a brighter version of it. God…I keep telling myself that if I buy ANY more makeup, my apartment might explode. Thankfully Christmas is coming!!!

LOVE the Coralista packaging! MAC+Hello Kitty= me squeeling like a little girl! okay a bit over dramatic but my two favorite things considering i missed the whole Barbie line so this kinda makes up for it! I’m going to save up after Xmas for that line!

Hi P. Potter,
ME TOO! I can’t wait for this. I have a ton of coral glosses anxiously awaiting to be paired up with it!

Hi Marisol,
Yes! I used to collect Hello Kitty stuff when I was a kid. I had the most amazing red Hello Kitty lunchbox when I was in first grade. Ahhh… good times. Did you collect HK pens and stuff way back when?
Two people in the last 24 hours have told me to get on it and start watching gossip girl. I need to get on that!
Karen says
Hi Tekoa,
OoOoOooo… don’t you love walking around and smelling like baked goods? It’s the best!
Karen says
Hi Katee,
Totally! I can’t wait for it. I hope it has a bit o’ shimmer.

Hi Lexi,

I can’t wait for this one, either! Did you collection Hello Kitty stuff when you were a kid?
