It’s a sheer creamy pink cantaloupe that looks awfully pretty layered on top of nude lipsticks.

I was originally going to wear basic neutrals and black liner on my lids today because it was deceptively chilly this morning, but that didn’t last long. It was 80 degrees by 9!

After shutting all the windows, drapes and blinds (much to Tabs’ chagrin, because it obstructs his view of the bird feeder outside), I felt like summery makeup was in order — something like the new NARS Tropical Princess Eyeshadow Duo from the Adult Swim summer 2014 collection.

30 Days of NARS: Sweet Dreams Lip Gloss, Day 18

Like the Eurythmics sang, “Sweet dreams are made of this…” shimmery pink grapefruit gloss. 🙂

I love the sparkles in this shade. NARS mixed in the tiniest pieces of pink, silver and gold glitter, which give Sweet Dreams a little extra somethin’-somethin’.

I wear this one when I want a glimmering nude pink lip that isn’t overly sparkly. It draws attention to yo’ pout but isn’t so overwhelming shimmery that people have to shield their eyes, ya know?

Ooh! — sheer pink NARS Istria Lip Gloss ($26) has secret sparkle. It’s one of the seven brand new colors that were added to the recently reformulated NARS Lip Gloss line.

So soft…

So delicate…

This one’s a prime purse gloss, perfect for an easy, everyday lip look. 🙂

I like to wear it with bold eye looks because it doesn’t compete with whatever might be happening on my lids and lash lines.

Milky pale pink perfection! Turkish Delight is definitely one of my ride-or-die NARS Lip Glosses.

I think this shade looks amazeballs with a classic black smokey eye, by the way.

P.S. Boy, the driving here in the Bay Area has been totes cray-cray tonight! We just got back from dinner for my dad’s b-day in the East Bay, and after dinner we swung by the city to drop off my brother, who lives in an apartment downtown.

Cars were swerving, zipping and zooming all over the roads! It was total chaotic car mayhem.

There must be some astrological shenanigans going on…

30 Days of NARS: Risky Business Lip Gloss, Day 14

I want to believe that this shimmery warm raspberry gloss takes its name from the movie where Tom Cruise dances around in his underwear.

I find that a more appealing theme than the idea of a corporate bigwig who makes rash multimillion-dollar decisions. 🙂

Which reminds me…I’ve never actually seen Risky Business.

I know! When it came out in the ’80s, my parents wouldn’t let me watch it, probably because of the Tom Cruise-underwear-dancing thing.

I keep meaning to cross it off my “Movies To Watch Eventually Someday” list but haven’t gotten around to it.

I mean, the list is hella long. That’s the problem. In fact, I just got around to watching Thelma and Louise yesterday.

It was on Netflix… I should check if Risky Business is, too.
