All I want to do is eat junk food, watch Bravo and play with makeup all day long. #truth
I’d start with these cute pieces from the new Too Faced Smitten Kitten fall 2014 collection and a big bowl of popcorn (and, lately, Million Dollar Listing New York).
They’re available now at Too Faced counters and toofaced.com.
The makeup. Not the popcorn.
MEOW!

My goodness, sweets. You HAVE to try this combo if you love copper, which I do, ’cause it brings out the richness in so many different eye colors! Brown, hazel, green, blue — especially blue.
I was chatting in the comments yesterday with long-time MBB reader Saffron (‘sup, S?) about one of my favorite copper eyeshadows, Laura Mercier’s Metallic Creme Eye Colour in Burnished Copper, which, of course, gave me an idea for my eye makeup today.
I took out the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette (don’t forget to enter the giveaway if you haven’t already), figuring that the Burnished Copper would make a good base for the warm reddish browns and bronzes in the palette.
I also grabbed MAC Costa Riche Eye Kohl, a warm reddish brown liner I absolutely adore.
Gosh, I wish makeup playtime was a mandatory thing. Wouldn’t that be cool? It could be like recess for beauty lovers.
I think I’ve said this before… Maybe if I repeat myself it’ll come true, LOL!
Just think of all the great combos we could stumble upon by accident. 🙂

Ah, the million-dollar question… Can a chocolate bar be better than “you know what”? Thanks to this giveaway hosted by Too Faced Cosmetics, you can find out for yourself! 🙂
The sweet prize (Get it? Sweet…?) features two of my favorite Too Faced products — Better Than Sex Mascara and the Chocolate Bar Eye Shadow Collection palette.
Both are perfect when I’m in the mood for neutral eyes with a sassy kick. I’m wearing them on my eyes right meow in the top pic.

As it turns out, I’m not the only person a little obsessed with Too Faced (seriously, though, I knew I wasn’t the only person), Jeannie Mai, host of Style Network’s How Do I Look? (and one of my girl crushes) loves the line, too.
I dare you to watch this video and not laugh…
Don’t lie now. Did you laugh when you watched that video? 🙂 Come on, you can tell me. Did you laugh?? Because I laughed REALLY HARD!
OK, details on the giveaway…
Five (5) lucky ladies and/or gents will win a prize package valued at $72 that includes…
Entering is almost as easy as saying “Yes!” to a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie. Just leave a comment below, and seriously, it can be about anything at all.
You could talk about how obsessed you are with Jeannie Mai’s show, How Do I Look? (um, I may or may not have tried to get one of my fashion-challenged friends on the show), or you could tell me about your eyelash woes.
Heck, you could even wax philosophic on the merits of stinky cheese or the benefits of having a pet dragon.
It’s that easy.
Enter by leaving a comment below. The deadline to enter is Monday, June 9, 2014, at 11:59 PM (Pacific). Entrants must enter using a valid email address to win. Contest is open to residents of the United States who have reached the age of majority according to their local laws (18 in the United States with these exceptions: Alabama and Nebraska, 19; Mississippi, 21). One entry per person. Tabs and I (heretofore referred to as “T-Money and K-Dawg”) will select five (5) winners at random from the entries left in the comments at the bottom of this blog post. Void where prohibited by law.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
Congrats to the winners of this giveaway, Kelsey Anne, Niki T., Karen, Lizzy and Q!

OOH! I love coffee table books…
Wait — what’s that? It’s not a coffee table book, you say? It’s actually a limited edition $139 collectible palette with eight beststelling Too Faced powder bronzers inside?
Well I’ll be darned… From the outside it looks like a giant coffee table book, which is actually kind of ironic, because it’s called The Little Black Book of Bronzers.
Little, it is not.
IT’S HUGE!
If for some unknown reason I were forced to suddenly go incognito, I could just hide behind it because the thing is literally bigger than my head.

Yeah, this is probably not the kind of thing you take on a weekend jaunt, but if you did, you’d have all of your Too Faced bronzers with you in a single place, all nicely marked and arranged. You wouldn’t have to rut around in your makeup bag, which is what I usually end up doing.
Like any good book, this one has a compelling story…
A story of bronzers and adventure starring you. 🙂
In one chapter, it’s Friday, and you’re wearing Beach Bunny and playing hooky from work. In another, you’re wearing Chocolate Soleil on the day you give your career-changing presentation in front of the board.
Later that night, you wear Bronzed & Poreless on your date with that certain boy (or girl).
** SPOILER ALERT** This book is an online exclusive, so you won’t find it on bookshelves or stores. Expect a very limited supply at toofaced.com, sephora.com and ulta.com in May.
As pricey as it sounds, the book actually represents a significant savings, as Too Faced bronzers are normally $30 a pop, so if you were to buy all eight of these individually (they’re all from the permanent line), you’d be looking at $240, versus the $139 the book costs.
That’s a savings of $101, and all of the pans in it are full size.
There’s a good mix of mattes and shimmers here, and all eight bronzers seem to have the same texture, finish and wear time I’m used to from the brand.

The size definitely makes this un-travel-friendly, but that’s not really the point. If you’ve been waiting for something BIG — literally HUGE — to make the jump to using bronzers on a regular basis, and you want a lot to choose from, check out the book.
Also…it’s cute! I like how when you open it, there are descriptions with little drawings of different places and scenarios where you could wear each of the bronzers.

NOVATO — “They’re kind of like purse parties,” said Karen of Makeup and Beauty Blog, “but without the purses, obviously, and with much, much more cheese.”
The beauty blogger and self-proclaimed pioneer of the melted party movement hosted one of them recently — so-called “melted parties,” where women (and some men) get together to celebrate “things that make you melt.”
“It’s the latest party crazy sweeping the nation.” said Karen. “A fun festival of figurative flambé!”
At Karen’s last melted party, guests nibbled on tuna melts and fondue (both cheese and chocolate varieties, she was quick to add), then played with blue-eyed kittens and chubby-pawed puppies while watching The Notebook.
All things that make you melt.

The melted theme often extends to the dress code, as well, as Karen frequently encourages melted party guests to arrive wearing makeup like the new $21 Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipsticks by Too Faced Cosmetics.

“These opaque liquid lipsticks,” said Karen, “which are new to the Too Faced line, have set the melted party movement on fuego! I like ’em for many reasons — first among them being the pigments. They’re intense! They literally lavish lips in smooth, saturated color, so they look great in selfies. On top of that, they last 4-5 hours, so you can raise the roof without having to stop for touchups.”
According to Karen, the slanted tip applicators make them easy to apply. “Even the brighter and more intense colors like Melted Fuchsia, Melted Violet and Melted Coral are a snap to use. I can even skip a lip liner.”

Alright, then I will attempt to say it in French. “Ladurée, macarons, Gerard Depardieux…”
S’il vous plait, mademoiselle! Please pardon my French. I know that it isn’t very good, but that’s what you get for not paying attention in high school French class. And it’s even worse than usual when I’m sleep deprived.
Over the past few days, I’ve averaged about three hours of sleep per night, but ya know, that’s the price one pays for excitement, and it’s been an exciting few days.
I’m back at home in Novato now, recovering from my trip to Nashville, which leads me, in an obviously contrived segue, to something I’ve been meaning to talk to you about for a while — the new Pardon My French set by Too Faced Cosmetics ($49). 🙂

Available now at Sephora stores and sephora.com, this limited edition cutie-pie comes with five pieces, but it’s more like 13 (because one of them’s a palette). There’s an eyeshadow palette with nine powder eyeshadows, a tiny eye primer, a full-sized eyeliner, one mini mascara and a makeup bag.
The $49 Too Faced Pardon My French summer set comes with…

If you just experienced a moment of déjà vu, it may have been caused by the Bonjour Summer Eye Palette. If the shades look familiar to you, that’s because it’s essentially last year’s Summer Eyes Palette in different packaging, with the addition of a couple new shades.
This one trades last year’s shimmery, peachy golden Peach Fuzz and satiny Coral Crush for matte beige Sand Dollar and shimmery copper Firefly, which don’t constitute a dramatic change in the overall color vibe, but it’s enough to tell the difference.

I think the addition of Sand Dollar and Firefly warm the palette overall, and the addition of Sand Dollar, a matte beige, is just downright practical.
You know the old saying (that I just made up): a girl can always use another matte beige as an all-over lid color. They ain’t flashy, but they’re soooo useful.
As for Firefly, the shimmery copper, you know, I can’t really say I’m crazy about it, to be honest. I wanted to love it because I’m kind of going through a shimmery copper phase, but I find its glitter gritty, and I notice quite a bit of fallout.
So, yeah. Not my fave.

If you picked up last year’s Summer Eyes palette, unless you’re a die-hard Too Faced hoarder, you may not need this one.
That said, if you’re new to the brand or just new to eyeshadow palettes in general, I think this would be a good place to start. It has a little color and some killer neutral shades.

Oh, dangit!
I’m sorry, pardon my French. 🙂 Just a few quick snaps of the new limited edition Too Faced Pardon My French Set ($49, an $83 value), available now at Sephora stores and sephora.com.
The set includes…
Cute, yah?
